Jihad In Canada

There is breaking news today of multiple shootings in Ottawa, Canada. A Canadian soldier standing guard at the National War Memorial was shot and reportedly killed. Canada's National War Memorial is a significant site. A shooting there would be comparable to one here at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery.

Gunfire erupted inside the Canadian Parliament building and there are unconfirmed reports of shots fired at other nearby locations. One gunman is dead and police are searching the area for additional suspects.

On Monday, Martin Couture-Rouleau used his car as a weapon to rundown two Canadian soldiers who left a veterans support center in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. One soldier was killed. Couture-Rouleau was killed by police after he flipped his car, got out and charged them with a knife.

In two days, three Canadian soldiers have been attacked at places where the attackers knew soldiers would be. As you know ISIS has called on Western jihadists to attack soldiers wherever they can find them -- even to "show up [at their homes] and slaughter them."

We know beyond any doubt that Couture-Rouleau was a radical Islamist. He was one of 90 people on the Canadian government's watch list and had tried to travel to Syria to fight for ISIS. But the Canadian government suspended his passport. So he answered the call to wage jihad in Canada.

Based on what we know so far about today's shootings in Ottawa, it seems likely that the attack on the soldier at the National War Memorial was also an act of jihad.

By the way, Nobel Peace Prize co-winner Malala Yousafzai, the Pakistani teenager who survived an assassination attempt by the Taliban, was to be honored in Toronto today by Prime Minister Stephen Harper.

U.S. Congresswoman Targeted

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN), an outspoken pro-Israel leader in Congress, has done her best to expose radical Islam. So much so, in fact, that ISIS has posted a video threatening her and featuring some of her remarks at this year's Values Voter Summit. As a result, she has been assigned extra security from the Capitol Hill police. Please join me in praying for her safety.

But Rep. Bachmann has done more than just expose radical Islam. She has also exposed the vitriol of the radical left. There are more than 200 comments on the Huffington Post's report about the ISIS threat against Bachmann. Do you think any of the liberals there expressed much concern about the "war on women" being waged by radical Islam? No. In fact, most were cheering the Islamists. Here's a sample:

"Maybe this will shut her up!!!"

"Please don't make me root for ISIL."

"I say we give her to them!"

"Could we possibly [be] that lucky?"

"Ummm .... go Isis?"

"Maybe we could pay ISIS to behead her."

Where Are The Passengers?

Yesterday several foreign travelers from West Africa at Newark International Airport and Chicago's O'Hare International airport were detained after enhanced screenings raised alarms. They were then transported to area hospitals.

The Department of Homeland Security reported yesterday that four travelers were recently subjected to additional Ebola screenings at Dulles International Airport and taken to a hospital for further testing. But, according to the Washington Post, the Centers for Disease Control won't comment on the DHS report and the two hospitals closest to Dulles deny they received anyone.

Where did these people go? Why won't the CDC comment? Are we going to be treated to yet another round of stonewalling like we got on Benghazi, the IRS scandal and Fast and Furious?

That's not going to assuage fears or spur trust in the bureaucracy. It is in that kind of atmosphere that distrust festers and rumors spread.

Yesterday, 16 members of Congress, all of whom are doctors and nurses, wrote to President Obama urging him to impose travel restrictions. Here's an excerpt of their letter:

"Containment is the key to stopping the spread of this highly contagious and deadly disease, and we strongly urge your administration to consider implementing a temporary travel ban for individuals who are citizens of, or traveled to, affected countries in West Africa."

The Pro-Abortion Left

If you thought the fight over Obamacare and abortion ended after the Supreme Court's Hobby Lobby decision, think again. Left-wing bureaucrats in California are so pro-abortion that even after the high court's decision this summer they are still trying to force churches to pay for abortions. That's right -- churches!

letter from Kaiser Permanente to one California church states that California's Department of Managed Health Care has declared abortion to be "a medically necessary basic health care service for which all health care services plans must provide coverage. . . . The DMHC . . . now is requiring health care service plans to provide coverage of all terminations of pregnancies, effective immediately."

The left is committed to compelling the Little Sisters of the Poor and churches to pay for abortions, forcing Christian business owners to participate in same-sex weddings and even forcing Christian ministers to perform same-sex marriages. Religious liberty in America is clearly under attack.

There is something you can do about it. VOTE!
