Not Funny

 
The White House Correspondents Association may have committed suicide Saturday night.  The backlash against the disgusting performance of comedienne Michelle Wolf is growing.  So much so that even the Washington Post writes that this year's dinner "should be the last."
 
While President Trump was in Washington, Michigan, talking to working-class Americans about his efforts to rebuild our country, a bunch of media elites, many of whom are probably in the top 1%, dined in D.C. as they listened to a vulgar, profane and bullying attack against women, especially Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
 
Believe it or not, Wolf even joked about abortion.  By the end of evening, few people were laughing.
 
MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell tweeted this:  "Apology is owed to [Sanders] and others grossly insulted by Michelle Wolf at White House Correspondents Assoc dinner."
 
CNN's Jeff Zeleny called Wolf's performance "an embarrassment."
 
Kyle Cheney of Politico tweeted that Wolf was "unnecessarily cruel."
 
Politico's Tim Alberta wrote this: 
 
"Every caricature thrust upon the national press -- that we are culturally elitist, professionally incestuous, socioeconomically detached and ideologically biased -- is confirmed by this train wreck of an event."
 
I couldn't agree more.
 
That said, Wolf must be a little surprised by the pushback.  After all, prominent media entertainment and left-wing elites have thrown objectivity out the window.  They have attacked the president as a Nazi.  They have declared that anyone working for him must be a bigot. 
 
Last week, the media, with the help of some liberal senators, destroyed the career of a White House doctor praised by Barack Obama.  So Wolf undoubtedly felt she was just doing what everyone else in the room has been doing. 
 
 
 
The Deranged Left
 
One of the great stars of the press corps' event was Kathy Griffin.  You remember her.  She made news for holding up the bloody severed head of President Trump. 
 
While her PR stunt backfired at the time, the Washington Post reports that Griffin "was greeted like a bona fide superstar" at the Correspondents dinner Saturday night.
 
The left has been having one huge assassination fantasy ever since Trump was elected.  As we saw last summer with the attack on the GOP baseball team, some deranged leftists are acting out on those fantasies. 
 
Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL) noted that five members of the GOP baseball team are retiring this year.  "One of the things that's concerning me is the assassination risk may become a factor," Brooks said.
 
He added that three people have been arrested recently for threatening Republican House members, and a man pleaded guilty to threatening to assassinate Arizona Rep. Martha McSally (R).
 
"Notice a trend here?" Brooks rhetorically asked.
 
 
 
Caravan Hits The Border
 
The first wave of caravan migrants from Central America has reached the U.S. border.  Dozens of migrants, claiming to be asylum seekers, were left on the Mexican side of the border after being told that our detention facility was full.  That explanation won't last long.
 
According to the Associated Press, asylum seekers are generally "released from custody into the U.S. while their claims make their way through the courts, which can take years."  
 
The Trump Administration is trying to avoid what previous administrations have done without violating current law.  A new poll finds that 54% of voters side with Trump.  Only 37% believe the migrants should be allowed in.
 
Here's the bigger point, my friends.  We have seen a mass migration of Muslims into Europe.  Governments there have been unable to find the will or the moral courage to stop it. 
 
The result will be the hastening of the day when Germans will be a minority in Germany, when Frenchmen will be a minority in France, when the British will be minority in Britain.  Europe is committing civilizational suicide.
 
Islamic supremacists who want to subjugate Europe now have the perfect strategy: Get in and win the battle of the maternity wards. 
 
We have seen the strategy of massing tens of thousands of people on the border of Israel.  There is moral courage in Israel, whose Jewish citizens are painfully aware of what it means not to have a country.  They know that thousands of people massing on their border is in fact a weapon being used against their nation. 
 
The organizers of the mass riots on the Gaza border know it too.  Hundreds of Palestinians stormed the Israeli security fence Friday after a Hamas imam urged them "toward martyrdom, martyrdom, martyrdom!"
 
At our border, a slow motion version of the same thing has been taking place under multiple presidents.  No one in America voted to dramatically, permanently change the demographics of our country.  But it is happening.
 
As we recently noted, about 850 people are apprehended at our border every day.  And they're only the ones who are caught. 
 
If 1,000 people who marched from Central America to our border are allowed in due to lax policies like "catch and release," soon there will be 2,000, 3,000 or 5,000 people demanding entry every day.
 
There are more than 500 million people in Mexico and South America.  How many are we supposed to allow in? 
 
People used to sacrifice everything to come to America and kissed the ground when they got here.  This isn't the same America, and these aren't the same immigrants.  These are leftists without borders.
 
There is nothing in the gospels, nothing in the concept of fairness, nor any argument that can be made for civilizational suicide.  But nothing will achieve the left's goal of "fundamentally transforming" America as rapidly as open borders and mass migration.
 
 
 
Speaking Of Civilizational Suicide. . .
 
Over the weekend, for the first time in its history, the home of Andrew Jackson, our seventh president, was attacked.  The graves of Jackson and his wife were so badly damaged that they were covered with tarps to hide the obscene vandalism left by anarchists. 
 
As Donald Trump predicted, we have seen attacks on monuments to Washington, Jefferson and Lincoln. 
 
While some of our children have obviously been taught anti-American history, we are at the same time being browbeaten into accepting hundreds of thousands of people from other countries who do not necessarily share our values or know our history.  This combination is a prescription for disaster.
 
By the way, the Army recently announced that it cannot meet its current recruiting goal.   Who knew that once you have transgenderism and open homosexuality in the military, along with increasing hostility to faith, that Middle America wouldn't want their kids volunteering anymore?
