Delayed Again

With just four days left until Obamacare's official launch, the Obama Administration announced today that it has been forced to delay online enrollment for small businesses in the so-called "SHOP exchanges." In addition, the Obamacare exchange in the District of Columbia will not be ready on time.

As the setbacks and bad news mount, Obamacare is rapidly turning into the "train wreck" that some of its supporters feared. Obama has delayed mandates for Big Business and granted an exemption for Congress. But he is stubbornly refusing to waive the individual mandate, forcing millions of Americans into a government-run system that is raising prices and killing jobs.

By the way, a new report suggests that Obamacare may subsidize 10% of all abortions performed in America.

While the media have tried to portray Ted Cruz and other conservatives as unreasonable obstructionists for trying to stop this train wreck, some Democrats are having second thoughts. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) told reporters today that he believes the individual mandate should be delayed too.

"Don't put the mandate on the American public right now," Manchin said. "If you know you couldn't bring the corporate sector, you gave them a year, don't you think it'd be fair?" Manchin is right. Why give Big Business a break but not hard-working families?

Obama's Approval Rating Falls

The latest CBS/New York Times poll finds that Obama's approval rating has fallen to just 43%. This comes as he is trying yet again to sell the country on Obamacare, which, at 39%, is even less popular than he is.

The New York Times reports, "Across the board -- on foreign policy; the economy; health care; and the federal budget -- more Americans disapprove than approve of the president's performance." In addition, two-thirds of Americans feel the country is on the wrong track.

Obama Ignores Congress & The People

Acting on behalf of the Obama Administration, Secretary of State John Kerry yesterday signed the U.N. Arms Trade Treaty. The treaty has come under fire (pun intended) from a variety of pro-Second Amendment groups.

Responding to Kerry's action, the NRA released a statement warning: "This treaty threatens individual firearm ownership with an invasive registration scheme. … Data kept on the end users … is a de-facto registry of law-abiding firearms owners, which is a violation of federal law. Even worse, the ATT could be construed to require such a registry to be made available to foreign governments."

Members of Congress are furious and with good reason. Six months ago, the Senate approved an amendment by Senator James Inhofe (R-OK) essentially rejecting the treaty. It passed 53-to-46. Every Republican and eight Democrats supported the Inhofe amendment.

For treaties to take effect, they have to be ratified by a two-thirds super majority of the Senate -- 67 votes. With the Inhofe amendment, a majority of the Senate went on the record in opposition to this treaty. There is no way it is getting 67 votes any time soon.

Senator Bob Corker (R-TN), the ranking Republican on the Senate Foreign Relations, sent a bluntly-worded letter to President Obama, stating, "The Senate has not yet provided its advice and consent, and may not provide such consent.  As a result, the Executive Branch is not authorized to take any steps to implement the treaty."

Moreover, this move comes just two weeks after voters in Colorado recalled two liberal anti-Second Amendment state senators, including the Senate president.

If the Obama Administration is truly concerned about weapons falling into the wrong hands, perhaps we should ask the U.N. to investigate the Obama Administration. After all, Attorney General Eric Holder knowingly allowed weapons to fall into the hands of Mexican drug cartels in Operation Fast and Furious. Now Fox News is reporting that large caches of U.S. weapons have been stolen by jihadists in Libya.

Rouhani & The Holocaust

As part of his "charm offensive," Iranian President Hassan Rouhani recently sat down for an interview with CNN's Christiane Amanpour. During their discussion, Rouhani reportedly condemned the Holocaust, melting the hearts of liberal journalists throughout the West.

Not so fast. The Iranian state news agency is vehemently disputing CNN's translation. According to the Fars News Agency, Rouhani never specifically referred to the Holocaust.

Moreover, in the Fars transcript, Rouhani seems dismissive of the Holocaust. After explaining that he "generally" condemns crimes against humanity, Rouhani adds, "the aspects that you talk about, clarification of these aspects is a duty of the historians and researchers, I am not a history scholar."

This is not an insignificant detail. Let's assume the best -- that CNN's translation is accurate. If that's the case, then Rouhani is not in control of his own official news agency.

And that is precisely the problem. Rouhani is not in control. It is the ayatollah who calls the shots in Iran, not the president.

We should never forget that we are dealing with a country whose leadership has repeatedly denied Israel's right to exist and vowed to wipe it off the map, while aggressively pursuing the very weapons that could achieve a second Holocaust.

By the way, after refusing to meet with President Obama, Rouhani evidently found the time to have dinner with Jew-hater Louis Farrakhan.
