Day 76
The record-breaking Schumer/Democrat shutdown of the Department of Homeland Security is over. With the emergency funds used to cover salaries nearly exhausted, the House just approved a Senate bill that funded most of the department.
The Republican majority is now working on a reconciliation bill--that cannot be filibustered by Senate Democrats--to provide funding for border and immigration enforcement for the remainder of President Trump's term. Democrats got none of the restrictions on federal immigration police that they were demanding.
Biden’s Anti-Christian Bias
One of the first things President Trump did at the beginning of his second term was issue an executive order instructing federal agencies to identify discrimination against Christians in the government. Today, the president’s Task Force to Eradicate Anti-Christian Bias released its report on how the Biden/Harris administration discriminated against Christians.
The report is 200 pages long. It has more than 1,100 footnotes and 300 pages of supporting documentation. That’s a lot of anti-Christian bias! Here are some of the key findings:
- President Biden pushed policies to eliminate statutory protections for religious Americans that interfered with his policy goals.
- The Biden administration aggressively opposed concerned parents at school board meetings and used its enforcement authority against them.
- Biden mandated the adoption of gender ideology throughout the federal government. Requests for religious exemptions related to gender ideology were treated as harmful conduct.
- The Biden Justice Department said that federal employees’ religious objections to the Covid vaccines should be considered as “insincere.”
- The Civil Rights Division of Biden’s Justice Department published materials suggesting that Christians could not be victims of religious discrimination.
All of this, and more, has been reversed by the Trump administration. Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, chairman of the Task Force, said:
“No American should live in fear that the federal government will punish them for their faith. As our report lays out, the Biden administration’s actions devastated the lives of many Christian Americans. That devastation ended with President Trump.
“The Department of Justice will continue to expose bad actors who targeted Christians and work tirelessly to restore religious liberty for all Americans of faith.”
Dangerous Democrats
Democrats are furious over yesterday’s Supreme Court decision on the misuse of the Voting Rights Act to do racial gerrymandering. Less than a week after the third assassination attempt in 21 months against President Trump, leading Democrats responded to the court’s ruling with lies, distortions and deliberately demonizing rhetoric meant to undermine our political institutions and stoke more political violence.
Barack Obama blasted the court’s conservative majority for “weakening the voting power of racial minorities.” Kamala Harris accused conservatives of “stripping away protections for Black and Brown voters.”
Rep. Yvette Clarke, chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus, said, “The Supreme Court has opened the door to a coordinated attack on Black voters across the country.” House Democrat Leader Hakeem Jeffries not only denounced the decision, he condemned the Supreme Court as “illegitimate.”
Jeffries has already threatened “maximum warfare all the time” against Republicans. Now, he’s telling Black Americans that Republicans are pushing a “scheme to suppress” the Black vote and “rig the midterm elections.”
These are all dangerous, disgusting and poisonous lies that increase racial divisions and undermine our constitutional Republic.
Jeffries knows that Supreme Court justices have been targeted for assassination by revolutionary leftists. The justices now have the highest level of security in the history of the country because of an avalanche of death threats aimed at the conservative justices.
Don’t forget the issue here. Several states had read the Voting Rights Act to mean that they had to intentionally gerrymander their states so that Blacks or Hispanics would be a majority in one or more congressional districts. Left-wing groups regularly sued to force the creation of these “majority-minority” districts, and left-wing judges gladly went along.
Americans have been frustrated over quotas for corporate boards and other positions. This racial gerrymandering is worse than that. It’s racial set-asides for seats in Congress.
That is obviously a violation of the Constitution and every principle the American people believe in. It presupposes that a Black congressman can’t be elected in a district that is majority White. That’s obviously false. Every Black Republican in Congress represents a majority-White district. Black senators represent two majority-White southern states.
But the most important part of all this is that Democrats couldn’t make it one full week after an attempt on the president’s life before they deployed rhetoric and anger intended to incite more violence by radical left-wing lunatics. Democrats are not “defending our democracy.” Their violent rhetoric threatens democracy in America.
I believe they are doing this because if they don’t win this election and the presidential election in 2028, Democrats may be on their way to minority status for the next 30 years. It boils down to a simple fact: People are fleeing Blue states and running to Red states. The 2030 census will be brutal for Democrats.
Rigging The System
Multiple Democrats, including Rep. Clarke, told us what they intend to do when they get control of Congress. They will pass laws to mandate majority-minority districts and massively “transform” the Supreme Court. We all know what that means.
They will pack the Supreme Court with radical activist justices to wipe out the court’s current conservative majority and undo every hard-fought victory we have won. They will eliminate the filibuster and make Puerto Rico and Washington, D.C., states, giving Democrats four new senators and as many as six new House members.
They will do whatever they have to do to ensure they never lose another election.
Another Big Win
The Democrats’ war on crisis pregnancy centers, which offer women the choice of life, just suffered a big setback.
The state of New Jersey issued a subpoena to First Choice Women’s Resource Centers, demanding information on all of their donors. Even though he had received no complaints against the center, Attorney General Matthew Platkin claimed he was conducting an anti-fraud investigation.
First Choice fought the subpoena in court, arguing it was intended to scare away donors and shut the pro-life center down. Incredibly, Platkin argued that First Choice didn’t have a right to sue over the state’s heavy-handed intimidation tactics and actually won in lower courts. However, Platkin got slapped down in the Supreme Court.
In a unanimous decision, the justices agreed that Platkin’s demand for donor information “injured” First Choice’s First Amendment rights, and the pro-life center was entitled to fight his subpoena in court. American Values proudly signed an amicus brief to the Supreme Court in support of First Choice Women’s Resource Centers.
Why would this decision be 9 to 0? Some might say the case is an example of reasonable Democrats on the court restraining left-wing extremists who go too far. I don’t think that’s what happened.
The Trump administration has launched multiple investigations attempting to find out who is organizing and funding the vast network of far-left Marxist groups in the United States. I wouldn’t be surprised if those investigations weighed on the minds of the three left-wing justices.
They don’t care about protecting a crisis pregnancy center’s donors. They want to stop us from finding out how much illegal foreign money is being poured into American politics.
Poll Position
Democrats and their media allies are predicting a “Blue wave” will sweep the country this November, putting Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries in control of Congress. If we all vote, that won’t happen.
The latest Harvard/Harris poll found that likely voters were split 50/50 between the two parties when it comes to control of Congress.
Most importantly, Republicans had a three-point advantage among voters saying they were “definitely going to vote” this November. If that advantage were to hold up through Election Day, Republicans could actually pick up 10 to 15 seats.
Fundamentally Transforming America
In recent days, 40 Democrat senators voted against providing military aid to Israel. Every potential Democrat presidential candidate is running away from Israel as fast as they can.
And New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani just vetoed his first bill—a bill to combat antisemitism at educational institutions. The legislation was intended to prevent the kind of antisemitic harassment and physical assaults that occurred during the pro-Hamas riots at Columbia University.
The migrant invasion that the Democrat Party allowed into America and the vehemence with which they fight any effort to make universities safe for Jewish students are all meant to change America. In many ways, they have already succeeded. This is not the same America that elected Ronald Reagan twice.
But Democrats have also done something else. They have transformed their own party.
Harry Truman rejected the entire foreign policy establishment to be the first world leader to recognize the modern state of Israel. John F. Kennedy and Bobby Kennedy were strongly pro-Israel. Democrats today are sacrificing Israel in order to get the votes of Third World immigrants.
Mamdani’s antisemitism was obvious during last year’s campaign. Native-born Americans voted against him. Foreign-born citizens voted overwhelmingly for him. This represents a sea change in American politics. It will have ramifications that we can’t fully begin to predict at this point, and none of them are good.
Defending Faith, Family & Freedom
In my latest “Defending Faith, Family & Freedom” podcast for the James Dobson Family Institute, I look back at the assassination attempt against President Ronald Reagan and reflect on the three attempts against President Donald Trump. Their courage and perseverance should inspire us all to fight harder for faith, family, and freedom.
