Good News & Bad News On Religious Liberty
The Supreme Court handed down a decision today on the constitutionality of prayers at government events. The case before the court concerned the town of Greece, New York, which opened its board meetings with a roll call, the Pledge of Allegiance and a prayer delivered by local clergy.

Two residents sued the town because the prayers were predominantly Christian. In its defense, the town argued that it wasn't discriminating because "nearly all of the local congregations are Christian."

Benghazi Bombshell

There is new evidence connecting the White House to the Benghazi scandal. Documents obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request by Judicial Watch uncovered an email from White House Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes labeled "PREP CALL."

In it Rhodes outlined the goals the White House had for then-U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice during her upcoming Sunday talk show appearances. One goal listed was "to underscore that these protests are rooted in an Internet video, and not a broader failure of policy."

Rand Paul On Life

Kentucky Senator Rand Paul was interviewed this week by David Axelrod at the University of Chicago's Institute of Politics. During the course of the hour-long interview, Axelrod prodded Paul on the sanctity of life. While Paul accurately described the problem with America's current legal regime, which permits abortion-on-demand, when asked what he would do as president, he said this:

Wrestling With Race
Yesterday, to the chagrin of leftists everywhere, the Supreme Court handed down a principled decision on the use of race as a criterion for college admissions. By a surprising 6-to-2 vote the court upheld the right of Michigan voters to eliminate a practice euphemistically known as affirmative action. In 2006, 58% of Michigan voters approved a constitutional amendment stopping race-based admissions.
