Reuters adds, "The economy grew at a 0.8 percent pace in the first quarter. It grew 1.0 percent in the first half of 2016." Such anemic growth will not lead to growing paychecks. |

Milwaukee Update After two days of rioting (not protesting) there was more order in Milwaukee last night after authorities belatedly instituted a curfew for teenagers. From everything we know, including from statements by the liberal mayor of Milwaukee, the police shooting of an armed black criminal by a black officer was a legitimate use of force. Sadly, some liberal politicians are suggesting that the unrest in Milwaukee is evidence of "urgent work" that society must do "to rebuild trust between police and communities." |

Smith, a 23 year-old black man, was shot and killed in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Saturday afternoon.
