The “Balloonacy” Continues
The official lunacy surrounding the Chinese communist spy balloon that violated U.S. airspace continues unabated.
General Glen VanHerck, the head of NORAD, admitted yesterday in a convoluted statement that Chinese communist balloons likely violated U.S. airspace during the Trump years, but we didn’t detect them.
That’s a huge problem right there. Gen. VanHerck acknowledged that NORAD is working to overcome this “domain awareness gap.”
However, the general added that “additional means of [intelligence] collection” – whatever that means – “made us aware of those [missed] balloons.”
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was also asked to explain how the Biden Administration suddenly discovered these previous Chinese balloon flights. Here’s what she said:
“Yeah, so, look, I think that . . . when the PRC government surveillance balloons transited the continental U.S. briefly at least three times . . . during the prior administration and once that we know of the beginning of this administration, but never for this duration of time, as we know.
“This information was [recently] discovered . . . But this is something . . . that we — they [U.S. intelligence agencies] did not — they were not aware of, as we’ve just laid out. But again, we are ready to brief key officials to let them know what the intelligence community was able to figure out.”
I’m sorry, but that’s not going to cut it. We have been lied to so many times by the Deep State that I’m not willing to accept these non-answer “trust us” explanations. The Biden Administration must be a lot more transparent than that.
For his part, former Trump Defense Secretary General Jim Mattis said yesterday that he was never informed of any Chinese communist spy balloons approaching U.S. airspace. But Mattis speculated that perhaps a review of old “radar tapes” may have yielded additional information.
We’re nearly two weeks into this latest Biden national security scandal, and the story keeps changing.
More NORAD Nonsense
General VanHerck also said yesterday that NORAD did have “domain awareness” of this balloon as it approached Alaska, but:
“It was my assessment that this balloon did not present a physical military threat to North America. . . And therefore, I could not take immediate action because it was not demonstrating hostile action or hostile intent. From there, certainly, [we] provided information on the status of the whereabouts of the balloon.”
So, clearly, the Biden Administration had been aware of this balloon for a lot longer than it initially admitted.
But what exactly is the criteria for determining that a spy balloon launched from communist China has no “hostile intent”? Maybe the head of NORAD should do a bit more reading.
In 2018, communist China tested launching a hypersonic missile from a high-altitude balloon. The test was widely promoted by Chinese media at the time, but it has suddenly been taken down. I wonder why.
Other articles have suggested that such balloons could be used as delivery vehicles for an EMP attack.
I’m sure Gen. VanHerck is a fine man. But I pray that he really isn’t so clueless.
When Pearl Harbor was attacked, the United States had a huge “margin of error.” We had vast oceans as a buffer from our enemies. We had a growing industrial base. Time was our ally.
But today, we have no margin of error. And the people leading us are not up to the task, beginning with the commander-in-chief, but it doesn’t end there.
Our “Modern” Military
Listening to the NORAD commander dismiss the threat from a Chinese spy balloon reminded me of the infamous congressional testimony of General Mark “Thoroughly Modern” Milley.
Conservative members of Congress wanted to know why the military was pushing critical race theory on our troops. Milley said he wanted to better understand “white rage.” Milley’s comments came after the Pentagon had ordered a 60-day “stand down” to address “the threats posed from white supremacy and extremism.”
I wonder if Gen. Milley has ever heard of “Chinese supremacy?”
The vast majority of communist Chinese are members of the Han ethnic group. They hold all the key positions of power and believe they are destined to rule the world. Communist China is the most racist nation in the world, but our leaders never bring up that fact.
That’s a kind of supremacy our military leaders should be reading up on, instead of joining the woke mob teaching anti-American history.
Is Harris History?
Kamala Harris made history as the first black woman to be elected vice president. But after recent reports from the establishment media, Washington is buzzing that Harris may be history.
The New York Times raised eyebrows after it published a devastating front-page article on Harris yesterday. This excerpt says it all:
“But the painful reality for Ms. Harris is that in private conversations over the last few months, dozens of Democrats in the White House, on Capitol Hill and around the nation — including some who helped put her on the party’s 2020 ticket — said she had not risen to the challenge. . .
“Even some Democrats whom her own advisers referred reporters to for supportive quotes confided privately that they had lost hope in her.”
Polling shows that most Democrats don’t want Biden to run again. But his own vice president, who would normally be next in line for the nomination, has a lower approval rating than he does.
Another Sign Of Decline
The cesspool of cultural decadence known as Hollywood hit a new low with the latest Grammys. Sam Smith, who identifies as “non-binary,” and Kim Petras, a man who claims to be a woman, put on a satanic performance to the appropriately named song, “Unholy.”
To describe the performance as “satanic” is not an exaggeration. Smith dressed like the devil, and was surrounded by dancers dressed as demons in dark red lighting.
The Grammy awards once attracted huge audiences of 30 million people or more. This week’s show resulted in one of the worst-ever ratings debacles for the Grammys. CBS was so embarrassed that it deleted a tweet promoting Smith’s performance.
I couldn’t help but notice the contrast between Smith’s “unholy” performance and that of Maverick City Music, which swept most Christian music categories.
Which direction are we going, America? Are we going in the direction of Christian artists or in the direction of “non-binary” Satan worshipers?
Again, that’s not hyperbole. The growing hostility to faith is undeniable. The violent attacks on hundreds of churches and faith-based ministries coincide with a growing acceptance of satanism -- from Grammy performances to school clubs and satanic abortion clinics.
Meanwhile, Disney is now pushing anti-white racist cartoons. And, in the middle of “Balloon Week,” Disney once again bowed to the Chinese communists by censoring an episode of the Simpsons that referred to China’s “forced labor camps where children make smartphones.”
The signs of decline are all around us. Pray for revival, for the restoration of reliable standards of right and wrong, and for America to become the “shining city upon a hill” that our Founding Fathers intended it to be.
