Insanity vs. Common Sense
It’s been said that political debates in America now are no longer Democrat versus Republican or Left versus Right, but insane versus common sense. That’s exactly what we’re seeing as two symbols of the great debate over what it means to be a woman in America today are squaring off. (The fact that this is even a debate at all is astonishing!)
I’m referring to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) and Riley Gaines. The Trump-hating, pro-abortion, socialist star of the Democrat Party versus the collegiate champion swimmer, conservative Christian, and advocate for women.
Their recent social media exchanges over the transgender issue reveal the chasm. Of course, AOC immediately resorted to personal insults, suggesting Gaines should get a “real job.”
Gaines fired back, writing, “I have a real job. I’m a mom. It’s the most important & rewarding job in the world.” Later, AOC mocked her athletic record, claiming, “Maybe if you channeled all this anger into swimming faster you wouldn’t have come in fifth.” Gaines replied:
“For clarity, yes, I finished fifth in the nation at the Division I national championships, tying with a 6-foot-4 man who ranked 462nd in the men’s division in the year prior. . . And whose side does AOC and the rest of the Democrat Party take? They take the 6-foot-4 man who flashed his junk at women in the locker room – that’s whose side they take.”
If you are a conservative pro-life woman, the Left literally does not consider you a woman. You’re a traitor to your gender. It’s the same with race. Conservative Black Republicans are not allowed to join the Congressional Black Caucus on Capitol Hill.
But if you’re a sick man claiming to be a woman and claiming the right to invade women’s restrooms and showers, the Left welcomes you. To the Left, a man pretending to be a woman is more of a woman than a real woman who is pro-life and pro-family.
That’s insane!
Presidential Dos & Don’ts
During his visit to Japan this week, President Trump took a break from his diplomatic duties and spoke to our men and women in uniform aboard the USS George Washington in Yokosuka. After finishing his remarks, he broke out the “Trump Dance,” and the diverse audience of military personnel cheered.
The visual reminded me of a Joe Biden moment. While everyone else around him—including a man with a beard in a dress—was dancing and clapping their hands, Biden was frozen with a goofy look on his face.
I think someone needs to write a book: “100 Tips For A Successful Presidency.” Near the top of the list should be this advice: A president of the United States always looks great standing with the troops. A president of the United States never looks great standing next to a bearded man in a dress.
Out Of Touch
A liberal group called Welcome is warning congressional Democrats to abandon “the pursuit of progressive ideological purity.” Welcome conducted extensive polling after the 2024 election. It discovered that 70% of voters believe the Democrat Party is “out of touch” and too focused on climate change and LGBTQ issues.
Additional research by “Welcome” found that Democrat support for radical policies has surged over the past 11 years. For example:
- Democrat support for a bill to study reparations for slavery rose from 1% to 57%.
- Support for an assault weapons ban grew from 41% to 88%.
- Support for convicted felons in jail having full voting rights grew from 4% to 41%.
- Support for legislation eliminating all state abortion limits went from 66% to 98%.
“Welcome” also documented how the Democrat Party platform reflected this radical shift during the same time.
- Language about specific racial groups increased by 828%.
- References to “environmental justice” went up 333%.
- Calls for LGBTQ rights skyrocketed by 1,044%.
- Mentions of “men” fell by 63%.
- References to “fathers” dropped by 100%.
- Language about “responsibility” dropped by 83%.
There’s a lot of talk that the Democrats are “doomed” by this lurch to the left. Don’t count on it. It appears that Republican candidates for governor in New Jersey and Virginia are still trailing their Democrat opponents. We’ll know more next Tuesday.
Mamdani Marches On
The Manhattan Institute just released the results of its latest survey of New York’s political landscape. Zohran Mamdani leads the New York City mayoral race 46% to Andrew Cuomo’s 31% and Curtis Sliwa’s 21%.
If Sliwa dropped out, the race narrows to 44% for Mamdani versus 40% for Cuomo. But I suspect a significant percentage of Sliwa’s voters would vote for him anyway, as his name is still on the ballot.
A circular firing squad is already forming on the Right. Some say that if Mamdani wins, it’s our fault because Republicans split the anti-Mamdani vote with Cuomo. I completely disagree. It’s the Democrats’ fault for nominating Mamdani and supporting him, as Gov. Kathy Hochul and House Democrat Leader Hakeem Jeffries have done.
The Manhattan Institute poll also found that most New York City voters oppose many of Mamdani’s positions. On issue after issue—lax or no bail, free buses, eliminating gifted school programs—voters reject Mamdani’s position. Yet in every poll, he’s somewhere close to 50%. Why?
In part, I think it’s another sign that “the issues” are one factor but not THE factor for many voters. A candidate’s “likability” matters to many voters. They want to know that the candidate “understands people like me,” and will “stand up to the establishment.”
There is one issue where the public is solidly with Mamdani and against the traditional Republican position. In fact, it’s one many Republicans would go to the mat over—raising taxes on big corporations.
Libertarians will insist that taxes on corporations are taxes on consumers. It’s a valid point, and I don’t want to raise taxes on corporations. But many multinational corporations don’t see themselves as American companies anymore, and they have bought into the Left’s radical cultural agenda.
So, why should conservatives fall on our sword for them?
Mamdani Madness
A video of Mamdani addressing the 2023 Democratic Socialists of America’s national convention is creating waves in the mayoral race. Mamdani not only bashes New York City police officers, but he does it with a dose of antisemitism.
He told his Marxist audience, “We have to make clear that when the boot of the NYPD is on your neck, it’s been laced by the [Israeli Defense Forces].”
This is another example of the alliance of radical Islamists and radical Marxists against us. We saw it when the radical Left hijacked the 2014 riots in Ferguson, Missouri.
What started as a “race issue” was quickly co-opted by leftists dragging “Palestinian solidarity” into the mix. While Ferguson had nothing to do with Gaza, these radicals claim that the Palestinians are “oppressed minorities” just like Black Americans. Thus, Black Americans should stand in solidarity with Palestinians who hate Jews.
Marxists and Islamists have only one thing in common—they are at war with Judeo-Christian civilization. They want to destroy Israel and America.
Jesus Christ Isn’t Karl Marx
Yesterday, California Gov. Gavin Newsom attacked conservatives for opposing Big Government and he used the Bible as his weapon. I wish his office would put out a “pic” of him reading the Bible as he cited scriptural justifications for his Big Government ideas.
This is not “one and done.” Look for the Left to deploy this strategy on steroids going forward. The socialists and Marxists in America are trying to “trans” Jesus Christ into Karl Marx. Sadly, there are many soft, “social justice” Christians who will help them do it.
I will be devoting more time in the weeks ahead to exposing this attempt to co-opt Christianity and distort the Bible into a socialist manifesto.
Just the other day, a commentator on MSNBC said Mamdani, a Marxist Muslim, is closer to Jesus than Christians who support Donald Trump.
The leftists claiming Jesus is a socialist are the same people who constantly attack conservative Christians for trying to “impose our values” on them. They regularly tell us our faith has no business in the public square; that we should respect the “separation of church and state.” Then, they turn around and use the Bible to push their socialist agenda.
They don’t care about the Bible. They don’t respect the Bible when it comes to the teachings on the sanctity of life and marriage. They don’t see God as the source of our liberty. Leftists quoting the Bible are simply trying to confuse Christians and fracture the conservative vote.
Trump Delivers
President Trump’s Asia tour continues to boost America’s standing in the world and produce tremendous results for the American people.
Today, leaders of South Korea presented President Trump with their nation’s highest honor. South Korea’s deputy foreign minister said, “We present this gold crown to you on this joyous occasion of your state visit . . . and the opening of the golden age of the Korea-U.S. alliance.”
In addition, the president secured several big deals for major American aircraft manufacturers, energy companies, technology companies, and U.S. shipyards—all of which support American workers.
Meanwhile, Democrats are keeping the government shut down, attacking Trump for stopping cartel drug boats from delivering their poison, resisting his efforts to enforce our immigration laws, and whining about the construction of a White House ballroom.
The contrast is clear: Trump delivers results, while Democrats deliver nothing.
