Cautiously Optimistic
During yesterday’s Supreme Court arguments over the use of sterilizing drugs and mutilating surgeries on children, the court’s liberal justices put the left’s extremism on full display.
Justice Jackson, who can’t define what a woman is, said that opposing mutilating children is the moral equivalent of opposing interracial marriage. Once again, the left is determined to turn normalcy into bigotry as it “fundamentally transforms” America.
The worst statement came from Justice Sonia Sotomayor, who suggested that taking powerful sterilizing chemicals to prevent normal puberty was just like taking aspirin.
That is unbelievably ignorant. These drugs increase the risk of blood clots, heart disease, osteoporosis, and cancer. Researchers are only now beginning to consider the potential risk of brain damage.
Aspirin has been used for over 100 years. Transgender procedures are radical medical experiments with very little credible science behind them. That’s why England and other European nations are slamming the brakes on these “treatments.”
We’re told over and over again that denying these “treatments” to children will cause them to commit suicide. That “emotional extortion” was totally debunked in yesterday’s hearing.
Justice Samuel Alito raised the weakness of what little “supporting research” exists. Under his withering questioning, the transgender ACLU attorney was forced to admit that “There is no evidence in the studies that this treatment reduces completed suicide. The reason for that is completed suicide is . . . admittedly rare.”
In fact, a significant study from Europe found that transgender treatments did not reduce the risk of suicide. The study did find that higher rates of suicide were related to “a higher rate of severe psychiatric problems, not to their gender distress.”
In other words, these extreme transgender “treatments” are treating the wrong thing!
Here’s the bottom line: We are cautiously optimistic that there is at least a five-vote majority on the court that will allow states to protect children from this insanity.
I certainly hope so because leftist politicians in some states are attempting to turn parents into criminals and seize their children if they don’t accept the lie that boys can be girls.
Ladies Means Ladies
On the same day that Supreme Court justices were grappling with the absurd notion of men becoming women, the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) made a major announcement: No men in ladies golf.
While this was a victory for common sense, the LPGA’s announcement could have used more common sense. Here’s how the new policy was phrased:
“Accordingly, under the new policy, athletes who are assigned female at birth are eligible to compete on the LPGA Tour. . . Players assigned male at birth and who have gone through male puberty are not eligible to compete in the aforementioned events.”
No one is “assigned at birth.” We should not be arguing this debate using the left’s terminology. It is unnecessarily ceding ground.
If a doctor hadn’t told Winston Churchill’s parents that he was a boy when he was born, does that mean he wasn’t a boy yet?
Don’t use nonsense terms like the New York Times, which referred to women as “non transgender women,” as if being transgender now defines everything.
Preemptive Pardons
A poll on Joe Biden’s pardon of his son, Hunter, was just released. It’s devastating – 62% of Americans oppose Biden’s pardon and only 30% support it. I hope the White House is paying attention.
There is growing buzz in Washington that Joe Biden is considering “preemptive pardons” for a host of Swamp creatures, including Christopher Wray, Adam Schiff, Liz Cheney, Adam Kinzinger, Mark Milley, Nancy Pelosi, Jack Smith, and Anthony Fauci.
Such a move would be unprecedented. Once again, Biden is showing the entire country exactly who he is.
But it also shows that the left is scared to death. Not that Donald Trump is going to get “revenge,” but that he will hold people accountable for abusing their government positions.
And what exactly is it that makes them think Dr. Fauci needs a pardon? Does it have anything to do with how the lab in Wuhan, China, was funded or COVID being used to steal the 2020 election?
Why would Liz Cheney need a pardon? I can think of one thing. There is evidence that Cheney cooperated with Democrats on the January 6th Committee to hide evidence from the public that did not support the left’s narrative and that she is likely guilty of witness tampering.
Why does Adam Schiff need a pardon? That’s easy. He abused his position on the House Intelligence Committee to repeatedly lie to the American people. (Here and here.)
What about Christopher Wray? Maybe he needs a pardon for being part of the Deep State effort to hide Hunter Biden’s laptop and censor the truth from the American people.
A Warrior Fights On
Pete Hegseth has an opinion piece in the Wall Street Journal rebuking the anonymous allegations against him in that same paper. Here’s a brief excerpt:
“The press is peddling anonymous story after anonymous story, all meant to smear me and tear me down. It’s a textbook manufactured media takedown. They provide no evidence [and] no names . . . They need to create a bogeyman, because they believe I threaten their institutional insanity. That is the only thing they are right about.”
Hegseth also wrote this:
“I’ve been through a lot: combat tours, job changes, divorces and family challenges. . . Tragically, many veterans never find the purpose for their next chapter and succumb to the bottle, depression or, worst of all, suicide.
“I understand what they are facing -- because I’ve lived it. But by the grace of God, I took another path. My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has renewed and restored my life. I am saved by His grace.”
The anonymous smears against Hegseth would not be permitted in a court of law and should not be permitted in a Senate confirmation hearing.
About That Hearing. . .
There are continued reports that a handful of Republicans are “wavering” on Hegseth’s nomination. They are: Susan Collins (ME), Lisa Murkowski (AK), John Curtis (UT), Lindsey Graham (SC), Mitch McConnell (KY), and Joni Ernst (IA). There are also three anonymous senators who may oppose Hegseth.
Anonymous allegations and anonymous senators trying to tank a nomination. That’s not a process to be proud of.
For decades Republican senators have said, “I disagree with this nominee, but the president won the election and the president deserves to pick his staff.”
How many times have we heard that pathetic justification after Republican senators voted for some left-wing radical?
Make no mistake about it: If they succeed in taking Hegseth out, the left will double down on Robert Kennedy, Jr., Kash Patel, and Tulsi Gabbard.
These nominees are the best opportunity we have to ensure we get done what must be done. They also have the potential to blow up the Democrat Party because they have followings in that party.
Any Republican senator who falls for this will be exposing how much they want everything that Donald Trump and populist conservatism stand for to be smashed.
