Trump In China
President Trump arrived in Communist China yesterday for a high-stakes summit on trade and foreign policy. Trump brought 17 CEOs from some of the most iconic American companies with him. These companies want to be able to fairly compete in China, and China needs their investments and products to grow its economy.
The welcome President Xi and the Chinese government put on for President Trump was exactly what you would expect from a totalitarian government where the people do exactly what they’re told to do.
As he walked off Air Force One and onto the red carpet, Trump was greeted by hundreds of children waving Chinese and American flags and chanting, “Xi! Trump! Xi! Trump!”
Against the imposing backdrop of the Great Hall of the People, Trump and Xi stood together as the People’s Liberation Army band played the national anthems of both nations. He walked down another red carpet in the massive square and turned a corner for a formal review of the crème de la crème of the Chinese military.
As Trump and Xi walked, they were accompanied by a goose-stepping soldier—another hallmark of totalitarian regimes. It is hard to describe the appearance of the Chinese troops. There is standing at attention, and there is whatever they were doing. It was almost superhuman.
It was all a not-so-subtle statement from Communist China: There’s one future in which the Chinese love you. Our children grow up thinking we’re friends. But don’t forget, we have the largest standing army in the world, and every day our military gets stronger.
Now, having said all that, I can’t think of anyone else I would want to be representing the United States other than Donald Trump. Can you imagine Barack Obama or Joe Biden handling this? Obama’s last trip to China didn’t go so well. If you really want nightmares, just imagine Kamala Harris trying to process all this and doing the right things for our country.
Xi is reportedly demanding that the United States understand certain things about Taiwan. President Trump is not only bringing up economic issues, but he is also letting China know that they need to get out of the way in Iran.

President AOC?
I was at a dinner last night with many prominent conservatives. We were discussing who we thought would be the next nominee of the Democrat Party. The usual names came up—Gavin Newsom, Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg, etc.
One individual said, “I think it’s going to be Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC), and it will be tough to beat her.” Then she made her case, and I think she may be right. In fact, a new poll just put AOC in the lead for the 2028 Democrat presidential nomination.
In a recent interview, she said, “[Many people] assume that my ambition is a title or a seat. And my ambition is way bigger than that. My ambition is to change this country.”
Anyone who thinks we’ve won the battle for America and it’s all flowery fields from here needs to think again.
The Heartland Institute conducted a poll, and the results were disturbing. It found that 51% of young Americans want a Democrat socialist as the next president. Even 42% of young conservatives said they prefer a Democrat socialist.
I know that seems crazy to those of us who understand the dangers of socialism. But it’s not crazy if you believe what I have been saying for at least a decade.
Politics in America has changed. The old paradigm of one party favoring lower taxes and less government and the other party favoring higher taxes and more government doesn’t connect with people the way it once did.
Donald Trump does not follow that paradigm, which is why the establishment doesn’t understand him. Trump carried 194 counties that had previously voted for Barack Obama. How does that make sense? It does if you understand that many people are looking for an outsider who can help them achieve the American Dream.
Thinking about young adults today, there are all kinds of cultural reasons why people aren’t getting married, and if they do, they aren’t having kids. But a big reason is that in much of the country, young people cannot figure out a way to buy their first house and make a sufficient living that provides for a family.
Either conservative populism or socialist populism is going to prevail.
CIA vs. DNI
A bizarre report broke yesterday that the CIA raided the office of Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard to reclaim documents related to Project MKUltra and the assassination of John F. Kennedy. Gabbard had the documents in order to comply with President Trump’s order that they be declassified.
Is it a coincidence that news of this “raid” breaks as the president is out of the country?
By this morning, the report was being walked back. Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) insisted she never used the word “raid,” which numerous press reports attributed to her. And the documents in question were taken months ago, not yesterday. She also said, “This is not an issue with [CIA Director] Ratcliffe or Gabbard.”
Rep. Luna and Rep. Eric Burlison (R-MO) went to the CIA’s headquarters today to review the disputed documents.
Speaking Of The CIA. . .
CIA special operations officer James Erdman testified yesterday before the Senate Homeland Security Committee. He was there as a whistleblower and he stated publicly what we all knew—that Dr. Anthony Fauci attempted to manipulate U.S. intelligence regarding the origins of COVID-19.
Erdman also told the committee that the CIA spied on its own analysts and frustrated their work investigating the origins of COVID-19.
There was one important exchange during the hearing between Erdman and Sen. Josh Hawley that went straight to the root of the most important issue of all—the Deep State itself.
Hawley noted that Congress passed legislation requiring the CIA to turn over everything it had on COVID-19. What Congress got was a redacted five-page report or the proverbial middle finger. Here’s how Hawley summed it up:
“So, the United States government first deliberately violated a law passed by Congress and signed by the president that ordered them to release all information related to the Wuhan lab. Number one.
“Number two, they then violated the law again by withholding thousands and thousands of pages that they had at the time and knew were covered by the law. And number three, the conclusions so-called they released to the public are false.
“If that is not a cover-up, I don’t know what is. If our elected officials and unelected officials in this case in the [intelligence community] can get by with blatantly violating the statutes of this country and lying to the American people, I’m sorry, but we don’t have a democracy anymore. I don’t know what it is, but it’s not a democracy because we the people aren’t in charge.”
Sen. Hawley is absolutely right!
As I have been warning for years now, the Deep State—not Donald Trump—is the real threat to democracy in America and to our constitutional Republic.
By the way, not one Democrat senator bothered to show up for this hearing on one of the most consequential events of the past century. Why not? Because Democrats are working with the Deep State, and the last thing they want to do is expose their efforts to destroy Donald Trump and conservative populism.
Jerusalem Day
Today is “Jerusalem Day” in Israel, celebrating the liberation and reunification of the Holy City during the 1967 Six-Day War. There was no religious freedom in East Jerusalem before then. And if some future deal with a Palestinian state ends Israeli sovereignty in parts of Jerusalem, religious liberty will cease in the Palestinian area.
There won’t be any celebrations in Jerusalem among those who closely follow American politics. As antisemitism rears its ugly, Democrats are on a path to nominate a Senate candidate in Maine who wore a Nazi tattoo for years. A Democrat candidate with ties to radical Islamists has opened up a 10-point lead in the Michigan Senate race.
Neither of those developments will be good for the people of Jerusalem, and neither of those developments will be good for the American people. But that is where the Democrat Party is going. There’s no question about it.
