End Of Day - 8-6-25 - The Redistricting Wars, Fighting For You, Trump's Warning

Wednesday, August 6, 2025

BREAKING NEWS: At least five U.S. soldiers were shot this morning at Fort Stewart, Georgia. Details are limited, but there are no reported deaths. The suspect, identified as Army Sergeant Cornelius Radford, is in custody.

Please join Carol and me in praying for a quick and complete recovery for the victims.

The Redistricting Wars

Texas Democrats are really proud of themselves for fleeing their state to prevent the passage of a new congressional redistricting plan. They should be ashamed of themselves instead.

By preventing a quorum, they have essentially shut down the legislature. But redistricting wasn’t the only item on the lawmakers’ agenda.

Among the 18 critical issues Gov. Abbott asked the special session to address was legislation improving emergency flood warning systems and providing financial relief to help the victims of the deadly July 4th floods.

Texas Democrat legislators are willing to hurt their fellow Texans for partisan political gain. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott isn’t backing down. He is initiating a process to remove the Democrat deserters from office for dereliction of their duties.

Predictably, the Left’s rhetoric on the redistricting dispute is completely incompatible with a peaceful civil society. One Texas Democrat legislator actually compared the redistricting fight to the Holocaust. Virtually all of them are saying this is a “war.”

There is irony in where these Texas Democrats chose to go. Some went to Massachusetts, where their party has so gerrymandered the state that there are no Republicans—not one—in the Massachusetts congressional delegation.

Other Democrats went to New York. Last year, Albany Democrats rejected a map drawn by an independent commission and rammed through their own gerrymandered map.

Other Texas Democrat legislators went to Illinois, where Gov. J. B. Pritzker, who wants to be the Democrat nominee for president in 2028, is the king of gerrymandering. Donald Trump got 45% of the vote in Illinois, but Republicans have just 18% of the state’s congressional seats because of overt gerrymandering.

Constitutional law professor Jonathan Turley looked at more than a dozen Democrat states across the country. He found that Republicans got 43% of the vote in those states but have only 22% of the congressional seats.

That’s what Democrats have done with redistricting. There was no screaming about “threats to our democracy.” And, I might add, Republicans did very little about it to respond in kind. Hats off to Gov. Ron DeSantis for being a Republican who fought back.

But because Republicans previously didn’t make a big stink over the Democrat radical manipulation of congressional district lines, the media and the Left are claiming that what Texas is doing is an unprovoked GOP “attack on democracy.”

Meanwhile, I lost count yesterday of the number of Democrats who said, “This is war.” Or “We’re bringing a gun to the knife fight.” Or “The dictator Trump is threatening our democracy.”

This kind of extreme rhetoric from the Left on virtually every single issue is the real threat to our country’s ability to survive. Democrats are doing it constantly, and they are doing it intentionally because they have nothing else to offer.

The Law

The Constitution mandates that a census be conducted every ten years in order to account for population shifts and to adjust seats in the House of Representatives and Electoral College votes according to those population shifts. So, every ten years, states must reevaluate their congressional maps and make changes if necessary.

But the law does not prohibit redistricting in other years.

Here’s an important reminder: After the 2020 census, the Census Bureau admitted it botched the count with significant undercounts in some states and overcounts in others.

Of course, these mistakes favored the Democrats—63% of the overcounted states were Democrat states, while 83% of the undercounted states were conservative states.

The result is that Florida did not get two additional seats it should have gotten, Texas did not get one additional seat it should have gotten, and Rhode Island did not lose a seat it should have lost.

Fighting For You

The White House is drafting an executive order going after the big banks for discriminating against conservative customers. President Trump was asked about the issue of “debanking” yesterday, which leftist pundits dismiss as “another right-wing conspiracy theory.”

The president said it even happened to him. After the 2020 election, JPMorgan Chase gave Trump 20 days notice to move his accounts elsewhere. Bank of America refused to take his money.

Trump said he believes that people in the Biden White House told banking regulators, “Do everything you can to destroy Trump.” After everything we have seen over the past ten years, it wouldn’t surprise me.

Debanking is real. It happened to former Ambassador Sam Brownback. It happened to retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn. It happened to the NRA. It happened to several Christian ministries.

All over the Western world, governments and big banks have been debanking only conservatives. Canada is the worst example. When truckers protested oppressive COVID mandates, the Canadian government seized their bank accounts.

Many so-called “progressives” claim Canada is a model of “good governance.” But this policy is straight out of communist China, where the regime imposes a “social score” to control the population. Now, Western liberals are adopting similar schemes.

Children At Risk

The radical left lunatics in California have just launched an unbelievably outrageous attack on parental rights, putting our children at risk.

Legislation has been introduced that allegedly addresses child safety concerns raised by the detention of illegal alien parents. Incredibly, the bill allows almost anyone to claim guardianship over a child by filling out a one-page affidavit.

This guardianship would empower the individual to make critical decisions on behalf of the child, including enrolling them in a new school and even making medical decisions, without any kind of legal hearing or judicial order.

Parental rights advocates are blasting the bill as a “child trafficker’s dream.” Pastor Jack Hibbs is also sounding the alarm. Pastor Hibbs told his congregation:

“It allows an individual to obtain a new form that comes with the bill; they fill it out, and they can name a child. . . The bill does not require a background check for this [individual]. . . There’s no requirement in the bill for the school to call you to ask you if it’s OK if John takes your daughter out of school.”

Then Pastor Hibbs offered this sobering advice to parents:

“If this bill passes, I am going to ask you to leave the state of California. You’re gonna need to pack up and get out; you gotta get out. You gotta run with your kids. You gotta go.”

This is what happens when the Left gains power and has complete control.

Trump’s Warning

Edward Coristine is a member of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Over the weekend, he observed a gang of “youths” attempting to hijack a woman’s car. Coristine ran over to try to help the woman. The gang viciously attacked him, leaving him with a concussion.

Edward Coristine is not a household name. He is better known by his nickname, which he more than lived up to—“Big Balls.” Coristine’s brutal beating comes on the heels of a Republican congressional intern being murdered in a drive-by shooting.

President Trump is furious. In a Truth Social post, Trump declared:

“If D.C. doesn’t get its act together, and quickly, we will have no choice but to take Federal control of the City, and run this City how it should be run, and put criminals on notice that they’re not going to get away with it anymore.

“Perhaps it should have been done a long time ago, then this incredible young man, and so many others, would not have had to go through the horrors of Violent Crime. If this continues, I am going to exert my powers and FEDERALIZE this City.”

Putting America First

Apple CEO Tim Cook joined President Trump at the White House today to announce another major investment in American manufacturing. In addition to Apple’s previous pledge of $500 billion, Cook said Apple is committing an additional $100 billion.

That brings Apple’s total four-year pledge to $600 billion in new high-tech infrastructure and manufacturing jobs. A White House spokesman hailed this development, saying:

“Today’s announcement with Apple is another win for our manufacturing industry that will simultaneously help reshore the production of critical components to protect America’s economic and national security.”

For years, I have urged American corporations to act like they were American corporations with some degree of loyalty to their fellow citizens by keeping their jobs here. Sadly, many corporate CEOs chose to invest in communist China, enriching our enemy while our industrial base and heartland communities were gutted.

Now, thanks to Donald Trump’s commitment to put America first, American companies and jobs are coming home.
