Another Horrific Attack

Another place of worship was attacked yesterday. Thomas Jacob Sanford drove his truck into a Mormon church in Grand Blanc, Michigan, during Sunday services. He then opened fire on the congregation, killing two people and wounding eight more.

Sanford also set the church on fire, which killed at least two more people and destroyed the church. He was taken down by responding police officers.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said on Fox News this morning that the FBI believes Sanford hated Mormons. The FBI is investigating the attack as an “act of targeted violence.”

Sadly, this story will probably disappear within forty-eight hours. It shouldn’t. Attacks on places of worship in America, no matter the faith, fundamentally threaten the freedom of religion. This terrorism must not be tolerated, and we must not simply shrug our shoulders and move on.

Hundreds of churches have been attacked since Roe v. Wade was overturned in 2022. The Conference of Catholic Bishops maintains a running list of attacks on Catholic churches. There have been 28 acts of targeted hate and violence against Catholic churches so far this year.

Just a few weeks ago, a radicalized transgender shooter attacked the Church of the Annunciation in Minneapolis and murdered two young children. That shooting was a three-day controversy, and then it was gone. There have been violent attacks on synagogues as well.

Sixty-two years ago this month, a bomb exploded in the Sixteenth Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama, killing four little black girls. It shocked the conscience of the nation, as it should have. Everyone at the time recognized that an attack on a church was ripping at the moral fabric of the nation.

Today, in this more secular age, attacks like the one yesterday in Michigan are quickly forgotten. But look around the world. Any country where houses of worship are regularly attacked is in deep trouble. Churches in Nigeria are attacked every Sunday.

If we can’t speak out against attacks on houses of worship, America really is teetering on the edge of the abyss.

Left-wing Hate

A new study just revealed that left-wing violence is at a 30-year high. We didn’t need a study to confirm this. Just look at the headlines over the past nine months.

  • A left-wing activist in Dallas attempted to assassinate immigration police officers.
  • An assassin driven by transgender ideology murdered Charlie Kirk.
  • A transgender shooter murdered two children attending mass at a Catholic church.
  • A cell of far-left domestic extremists, including at least two transgender individuals, ambushed an immigration facility in Texas.
  • Assaults on immigration police are up 1,000%. MAGA supporters aren’t doing that.
  • The Republican Party headquarters in New Mexico was firebombed.
  • Radicals screaming “Free Palestine” have attempted to burn Jews and murdered innocent people leaving a museum and attending a wedding.

Thankfully, the Trump administration is cracking down on violent left-wing extremists. The Justice Department is also launching an investigation into George Soros’s foundations, which have funneled tens of millions of dollars to radical organizations.

Trump & The Generals

President Trump will be attending tomorrow’s meeting with Secretary of War Pete Hegseth and the nation’s top military commanders. In response, the paranoia at the Washington Post is off the charts. Left-wing reporters labeled the event a “highly unusual meeting between the commander in chief and the U.S. military leaders.”

After four years of mistakes and weakness by Joe Biden, President Trump is trying to inspire enthusiasm and boost the morale of our military. He told one media outlet that the meeting is about “esprit de corps.” And the Post thinks there is something “highly unusual” and inappropriate about it.

The paper quoted one academic “expert” on the military who said Trump’s attendance at this meeting is “tremendously concerning and should be tremendously concerning to the American people.” Really?

The Post’s reporters somehow connected tomorrow’s meeting with President Trump’s order to deploy National Guard troops to defend an immigration facility in Portland, Oregon, which has been under siege from radical leftists for months. These so-called “journalists” are stoking leftist fears that Trump is about to declare martial law.

They are more upset about the president and the secretary of war meeting with top military leaders than they ever were about a Chinese spy balloon traveling across the country and over our military bases. They are more upset about this meeting than they were about millions of illegal aliens invading our country.

I haven’t seen the Washington Post this upset since the June parade celebrating the Army’s 250th birthday!

Truth Stranger Than Fiction

Dr. Ian Andre Roberts is the superintendent of Des Moines Public Schools—the largest school district in Iowa. Or at least he was superintendent of Iowa’s largest school system. He was arrested Friday after fleeing law enforcement. He was caught with a loaded gun, a hunting knife, and $3,000 in cash.

Dr. Roberts has a very interesting biography. He graduated from Coppin State University in Baltimore, Maryland. He later earned two master’s degrees and a doctorate in education. He also competed in the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, Australia.

In 2012, he became the principal of Anacostia High School in Washington, D.C. He held similar positions in Maryland, Missouri, New York, and Pennsylvania.

In 2023, Dr. Roberts was hired to be superintendent of the Des Moines school system and is currently making at least $270,000 a year. Or at least he was. His educational license was just revoked.

So, why was Dr. Roberts arrested Friday? It turns out that he is an illegal alien from Guyana with a criminal record and court-issued deportation orders from May 2024. Roberts reportedly entered the United States on a student visa in 1999.

How on earth did an illegal alien with a prior weapons charge conviction become the superintendent of Iowa’s largest public school system, the principal of a Washington, D.C., high school and a principal in other jurisdictions?

It’s a complete mystery, and Iowa Republicans are demanding answers.

It’s also a mystery how he was able to obtain the gun police seized on Friday. It is against federal law for illegal aliens to own firearms.

Needless to say, Democrats are rallying to his defense. Jackie Norris, chairman of the Des Moines school board, is calling for the community to demonstrate “radical empathy” for Roberts. By the way, Norris once served as Michelle Obama’s White House chief of staff.

This demand for “radical empathy” will be a gift that keeps on giving as Iowa citizens and taxpayers learn about this outrageous scandal. One senior immigration official said:

“This should be a wake-up call for our communities to the great work that our officers are doing every day to remove public safety threats. How this illegal alien was hired without work authorization, a final order of removal, and a prior weapons charge is beyond comprehension and should alarm the parents of that school district.”
