VA Scandal A Preview Of Obamacare's Future

Everyone should be paying attention to the VA scandal. Not only is the disgraceful treatment of our veterans a national outrage, but it offers us a potential glimpse into the future of Obamacare.

Dr. Richard Krugman, the former associate chief of staff at the Veterans Affairs health care system in Harlingen, Texas, is among the growing number of whistleblowers at VA facilities to allege that poor treatment led to unnecessary deaths. Dr. Krugman specifically cited a cost-cutting policy limiting colonoscopies.

Our Hashtag Foreign Policy

The tragedy of the kidnapped Nigerian girls continues. From the past acts of Boko Haram, we can assume that by now most of the girls have been sexually abused. Now their jihadist captors have forcibly converted them to Islam. A video has been released showing them reciting Koranic verses in Arabic. It's not clear whether that was before or after they were raped.

Solidarity & Action

On Capitol Hill this week leaders of various Christian denominations gathered to call attention to the growing danger of Christian persecution in the Middle East. The press conference was organized by Rep. Frank Wolf (R-VA) and Rep. Anna Eshoo (D-CA), co-chairs of the Religious Minorities in the Middle East Caucus.

Rally For Religious Freedom

This morning I joined the leaders of 15 other pro-family, pro-life organizations at the "Rally for Religious Freedom." The event took place in front of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, which is widely considered the second-most important court in the country. The rally was sponsored by Priests for Life and the Archdiocese of Washington, which were in court today fighting Obamacare's contraception mandate.

The Real War On Women
There is a lot of talk about a "war on women" in America. It is utter nonsense spewed by leftist politicians trying to disguise their radical social agenda. There is a very real war on women going on in many Muslim countries, and the left frequently ignores it. Recent tragic events have forced some in the media to confront it.

YOU DID IT!
Thank you, my friends! Donations poured in yesterday and we met our spring goal. Thanks to your support, we are back on track. If we can continue this pace throughout the rest of the year, I am confident we will be able to make a significant impact for our values. As always, I am humbled by your generosity and faith in our work. Thank you for continuing to stand with me in the good fight for family, faith and freedom!

Good News & Bad News On Religious Liberty
The Supreme Court handed down a decision today on the constitutionality of prayers at government events. The case before the court concerned the town of Greece, New York, which opened its board meetings with a roll call, the Pledge of Allegiance and a prayer delivered by local clergy.

Two residents sued the town because the prayers were predominantly Christian. In its defense, the town argued that it wasn't discriminating because "nearly all of the local congregations are Christian."

The White House and its Capitol Hill allies on are in full damage control mode. Even the liberal media are starting to turn on them.

Pray For America & Do Not Yield

Today is the 63rd Annual National Day of Prayer. This year's theme is "One Voice, United in Prayer." This year's Honorary Chairman is Anne Graham Lotz, daughter of evangelist Billy Graham. As always, Shirley Dobson at the National Day of Prayer Task Force has done tremendous work making this event such a success.

Benghazi Bombshell

There is new evidence connecting the White House to the Benghazi scandal. Documents obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request by Judicial Watch uncovered an email from White House Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes labeled "PREP CALL."

In it Rhodes outlined the goals the White House had for then-U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice during her upcoming Sunday talk show appearances. One goal listed was "to underscore that these protests are rooted in an Internet video, and not a broader failure of policy."
