Paris Sans Obama, Was March Serious, Hypocrisy Award, More Threats
The World Marches Sans Obama

Obama is usually wherever two or more are gathered. This weekend was the exception. Forty world leaders marched at the head of a million Parisians against radical Islamic terror on Sunday. Our country conspicuously had no representative. Not Obama, not Kerry, not Biden. (Isn't this type of event the reason God made vice presidents?)

Paris Siege Ends

Two hostage crises in Paris were resolved today. Cherif and Said Kouachi, the two jihadists responsible for Wednesday's slaughter at Charlie Hebdo, seized a hostage and entered a printing plant outside of Paris. They told police that they wanted to die as martyrs. They got their wish.

How Deep Is Muslim Radicalism?

Many commentators are assuring us this morning that sympathy in the Muslim world for the kind of terror attack that took place in Paris yesterday is incredibly small. But last year a Pew Research surveyin Muslim countries found disturbingly high support justifying violence against civilian targets to defend Islam.

Paris Under Siege

In the wake of this morning's terrorist attack on the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, Paris looks like a city under siege. Soldiers armed with assault rifles are patrolling streets, subway stations, houses of worship and major tourist attractions like the Eiffel Tower. Carol's Mom Goes Home To The Lord

Carol's mom, Jean Hoke, has passed away. She loved the Lord. We know she has gone on to her new home in Heaven, where a place filled with the glory of God, free of anxiety, pain and suffering, has been lovingly prepared for her.

Over her 91 years, Jean was a loving wife and mother. Like so many of the "Greatest Generation," she was a patriot, a conservative and a bold defender of her faith. We will miss her terribly, but we take comfort in knowing we will see her again.

Republican Rebellion

There is a rebellion brewing in the House Republican ranks -- a "mini-mutiny" as one columnist put it -- against Speaker John Boehner. Two conservatives, Reps. Louie Gohmert of Texas and Ted Yoho of Florida, are putting their names forward as candidates for speaker of the House.

Grimm Gone

Late yesterday evening, Rep. Michael Grimm (R-NY) announced that he would resign from Congress effective January 5th -- one day before the new Congress formally meets. Grimm's resignation was necessitated by last week's guilty plea on charges of tax evasion, which could send him to jail for three years.

First elected in 2010, Grimm has been dogged by allegations of campaign finance violations since January 2012. The Justice Department has been investigating Grimm for two years.

A Good Week for Tyrants, The Left's Hate Speech

A Good Week For Tyrants

Castro is crowing in Cuba. The mullahs are merry in Tehran. Kim Jong-un is kicking it up in North Korea.

Saturday, Cuban President Raul Castro delivered an hour-long victory speech before the Cuban National Assembly. The communist spies released by Obama were given a hero's welcome. A gloating Castro declared, "Now we've really won the war."
