"To Hill And Back"
That's the frontpage headline of today's New York Post. We've been warning for months that Hillary Clinton is delusional enough to make another go at it. She still seems to believe that she is destined to be the first female president of the United States.
Her speech last night at the New York State Democrat Party convention was unbelievable. Hillary repeated the left's narrative that our democracy is in danger. Well, yes, it is. But the danger is coming from the left!
Left-wing politicians have been issuing edicts closing our churches, closing our schools and closing our businesses. They did that all in the name of an emergency that the left refuses to let go of. Conservative governors resisted the lockdowns, while the left has resisted the return to normal.
Just look at what's happening in Canada. The "liberal" Canadian government is freezing bank accounts and arresting people for protesting overbearing government dictates.
Leftist Prime Minister Justin Trudeau suspended democracy and then accused those protesting against the government of being fascists!
Meanwhile, in this country, thousands of people, including many frontline heroes and first responders, are losing their jobs over government mandates.
Yes, freedom is in jeopardy – FROM THE LEFT!
In her remarks last night, Hillary also mocked the Durham investigation. But surely, she's feeling the heat for what she did in 2016.
That was her attempt at undermining our democracy, instigating a coup against the elected government of the United States. And it was carried out by people who were a lot more powerful than anyone demonstrating in Washington, D.C., on January 6th.
But there's also another story here that shouldn't be missed.
Joe Biden has already said that he's running for reelection. But many Democrats don't believe it, and Hillary isn't looking to 2028. She's looking to 2024. I assume she won't challenge a sitting president in the Democrat primary, although that would be fun to watch.
Many on the left don't believe Joe Biden will run again. Many on the left don't want Joe Biden to run again, and they don't believe that Kamala Harris can win on her own.
The Intolerant Left
Take a moment to watch this brief video. It features a Canadian business owner who breaks down during an interview while describing the threats she's facing for simply making a donation to support the Freedom Convoy. Her freedom to participate in civic life in Canada is being threatened by intolerant leftists.
It is important to see what is being done to people who stand up against the increasingly Marxist left. The natural instinct is for folks to say, "I don't want that to happen to me."
And, of course, that's exactly why it is being done! The left is making examples out of people hoping the rest of us will back down and keep our mouths shut.
That's why Kyle Rittenhouse had to be put through hell. Because he dared to resist the mob.
That's why Mark and Patricia McCloskey had to be destroyed. Because they had the audacity to walk out onto their front porch to resist the mob.
That's why the left is using January 6th to demonize any protest by conservatives as an "insurrection by white supremacists," while the left made excuses for the "mostly peaceful protests" – the fiery riots in 2020. The list goes on and on.
It boils down to this: The left wants to quarantine the public square so it's free, not of COVID, but of conservatives. We are the "disease" the left is trying to eliminate.
The one constant in American politics since the 1960s is that the left owns the streets. This is critical to their plan. If they own the streets, they can intimidate politicians at every level. They can send the signal that something is really wrong in our country when there's so much turmoil in the streets.
And they don't want conservatives gathering in large numbers. The left hates the annual March for Life. They couldn't stomach a group of Catholic boys standing on the Lincoln Memorial looking happy and wearing MAGA hats. So, they tried to destroy them.
And the left actually tried to make Trump rallies illegal. Remember the claim that after every Trump rally there was massive increase in hate crimes? Of course, it was totally bogus, but that's the intolerant, totalitarian left.
Here's the bottom line: The left knows it is outnumbered, that there are more of us than there are of them. But the left punches above its weight. It's active. It's aggressive. It's loud. It demands attention.
But if normal Americans actually start standing up against this insanity, the left fears it could be crushed. So, it's trying to crush us first.
We must use every right at our disposal – the right to free speech, the right to assemble, the right to vote. We must redouble our efforts to defend our values, no matter how much they try to stop us.
The War On Cops
Like many major cities, Austin, Texas, wasn't spared from the rioting in 2020. The riots there didn't get as much attention as Minneapolis, Portland, Seattle or Washington, D.C., but they were bad enough. Businesses were vandalized and looted, and police officers were attacked with rocks, frozen water bottles, jars of paint, etc.
In response to this violence, Austin's Soros-backed district attorney yesterday announced the indictments of . . . 19 police officers for violating the rights of the demonstrators.
As you might imagine, Austin police officials are furious. Dennis Farris, president of the Austin Police Retired Officers Association, blasted the indictments, saying:
"The socialist DA in Travis County indicted Austin police officers for doing their jobs during the riots in 2020. . . These indictments are strictly political in nature. . . All [the DA] has done today is ruined the lives and careers of police officers for his radical agenda."
This is the left's war on police, part of the left's war on normalcy.
Austin is dominated by the left. The city defunded its police department in the summer of 2020, and, predictably, set a new homicide record the following year. The city is down 200 officers now, and I seriously doubt yesterday's news will help with recruitment.
This is what happens when the left gets power – the criminals walk free and cops get prosecuted.
I don't know all the intricacies of Texas law, but Governor Abbott and the state legislature need to take action. Gov. Abbott should immediately pardon the officers if they are convicted.
A Dangerous Time
Russia announced that it will be holding a massive nuclear drill this weekend involving the launch of cruise missiles and ballistic missiles. At times like this, it is reassuring to know that we have a steady hand at the helm of our ship of state. . . Oh, never mind.
Unfortunately, it's the exact opposite. In fact, new polling finds that 66% of voters, including 43% of Democrats, want Joe Biden to take a cognitive test because they don't believe he's up to the job.
