Glamorizing Terror 

Rolling Stone has set off a firestorm of controversy. The cover of its newest edition features a picture of confessed Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. The photo presents Tsarnaev as if he were the latest teen heartthrob. 

Will Holder Persecute George Zimmerman? 

The Obama Administration is coming under increasing pressure from left-wing groups to prosecute George Zimmerman on federal hate crimes charges or civil rights violations. But even the Washington Post acknowledges that such charges are unlikely. 

The Zimmerman Verdict 

There is no denying the tragic nature of the Trayvon Martin case. The confrontation between Martin and George Zimmerman happened over a year ago. Today one young man is dead and the other's chance for a normal life has been destroyed. 

Both the Martin and Zimmerman families are Christians. No doubt both were praying for justice for their sons -- a prayer that obviously had to leave one family disappointed.

Will Harry Nuke The Senate? 

Just when you think the atmosphere in Washington can't get any worse, Senate Democrat Leader Harry Reid is threatening to procedurally blow up the Senate. 

Reid has scheduled votes next week on a number of Barack Obama's most controversial nominees. Senate Republicans have been using prolonged debate, or the filibuster, to block these nominations. But now Sen. Reid is threatening to change the Senate's rules unless the GOP backs down. 

House Leaders Hold Firm 

After a contentious two-hour meeting yesterday on immigration reform, the House GOP leadership, along with two key committee chairmen, released a joint statement outlining how the House plans to proceed. Here are excerpts of that statement: 
 

Texas House Approves Abortion Regulation Bill 

Congratulations to Texas conservatives for persevering in the face of demonstrations, death threats and left-wing media distortions. Last night the State House of Representatives passed a ban on late-term abortions. 

Boehner Speaks About Immigration Reform 

House Republicans are scheduled to meet tomorrow to discuss their strategy for dealing with immigration reform. Yesterday Speaker John Boehner addressed the issue during a press conference. Speaker Boehner reiterated his position that the Senate bill is going nowhere in the House and that border security is his first priority. Here are his remarks:

Last month State Department whistleblower Aurelia Fedenisn came forward with serious allegations of misconduct by top officials. If the charges are true, they could be a huge embarrassment for former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and President Obama. 

Celebrating Independence Day 

Independence Day is one of my favorite holidays -- celebrating patriotism, our history and the tremendous courage, faith and sacrifices of our Founding Fathers. As the 237th birthday of America dawnstomorrow, millions will get together with friends and family for backyard barbeques, games and fireworks. 

Remember Nancy Pelosi's famous statement about Obamacare, "We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it"? It seems even the Obama White House is finding less and less to like about Obamacare as we learn more about what is in it.
