The Left’s War On Normalcy

We’ve reached a new low in Washington with the disgusting story that broke late Friday.  A Democrat congressional aide evidently thought it would be a really good idea to film himself having gay sex in a historic Senate committee room.

Big Media and the Democrats want to sweep this scandal under the rug as quickly as possible.  Maryland Sen. Ben Cardin, for whom the aide worked, is refusing to address the issue, claiming it’s a “personnel matter.”  But it’s much more than that.

The aide was fired.  But, of course, he’s now claiming to be the victim, alleging he’s being attacked for who he loves. 

No, he’s being punished because he had sex with someone in a Senate hearing room where Supreme Court confirmation hearings and other historic events have taken place. 

Was the room deliberately chosen for this disgusting and disrespectful act?  We know the disdain the radical LGBTQ movement has for this conservative Supreme Court. 

It seems likely that several laws were broken, and they need to be enforced.  The Capitol Police are reportedly investigating the matter.

The Cardin aide is now unemployed, but I’m not worried about him.  I’m sure Bud Light will contact him before the end of the day to be their new spokesman.

So, in the culture, we have gone from homosexuality being “in the closet” to Pride celebrations at the White House (why are we supposed to celebrate this?) to now LGBTQ sex in Senate hearing rooms.

What’s next -- gay couplings in the House chamber during the State of the Union address?

Kudos to my good friend Laura Ingraham for spotlighting the “Freak-O-Rama” that has become the Biden White House.  After the 2020 election, we were told that the “adults” were back in charge and that Joe Biden would bring us all together and restore normalcy to America.

It’s been anything but normal!  It’s been a constant war on Judeo-Christian norms since the day he took office!

The Indoctrinated Generation

The latest Harvard/Harris poll should be setting off alarm bells EVERYWHERE.  In Congress, in faith communities, in corporate boardrooms, in newsrooms, in academia and in living rooms across the country.

The poll found that young Americans between the ages of 18 and 24 are rabidly anti-Israel and anti-Semitic, and have largely accepted some of the worst narratives of the left.  Bizarre stuff that most of us would just laugh off, they have to believe as “true.”

For example:

• 79% supported the ideology of critical race theory (CRT) and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) that defines all white people as “oppressors” and gives preference to non-white people for university admission and employment as a result of white “oppression.”

• 67% of young Americans said that Jews were “oppressors” and should be treated as such.

• When asked about the future of the Israel-Palestinian conflict, 51% said that Israel should be ended and given to Hamas. 

These young Americans are embracing nation-ending ideologies – and I’m not just referring to the nation of Israel.  America will not survive this either.

There should be serious top-level meetings of business executives, political leaders and religious leaders who care about there being a place called “America” in the future. 

America is being “deconstructed” right in front of our eyes.  We need a plan to defeat this neo-Marxist indoctrination now! 

Being for CRT and DEI means you disagree with the fundamental idea that America is built on merit and that you achieve success based on what you are able to add and produce. 

Yes, there were times when we didn’t always do that fairly because of racism.  Well, overt racism has been illegal for a long time now.  But the left is teaching that whites must be discriminated against now because of past racism. 

That’s exactly what Ibram X. Kendi teaches.  Sadly, many young Americans are soaking up this poison. 

As a result of this ideological extremism, many parents are likely ashamed of what their children think about Israel and Jews.  Our high schools and colleges would make Adolf Hitler proud. 

We won World War II, but the National Socialists (Nazis) have won America’s classrooms.

Confronting Communist China

Over the past year, the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has been investigating the threats posed by the CCP.  It has issued reports on communist China’s gross human rights abuses, including genocide against the Uyghurs, and how the U.S. can better deter Beijing’s aggression against Taiwan.

However, the committee’s latest round of policy recommendations represents a tectonic shift in thinking and is certain to cause great consternation among the DC establishment. 

The committee just called for totally revamping the U.S.-China economic relationship, including revoking communist China’s “most favored nation” (MFN) trade status.

Why is this so important?  Communist China is not a normal country or just another trading partner.  Beijing’s Communist Party bosses are engaged in genocide, and they are planning a major war against the United States sooner rather than later. 

We know this from their massive military buildup, which our insane trade policies have enabled.  And we know this from repeated hostile actions. 

In recent days, there was another shocking report that Chinese hackers infiltrated two dozen critical infrastructure systems in the United States.  They’re doing this so they can cripple us at home in the event of a war over Taiwan.

And, thanks to Joe Biden’s open borders, we know that tens of thousands of Chinese nationals have crossed our southern border.  We have no idea who they are or why they’re really here.

While I am pleased to see members of Congress finally waking up to the threat communist China poses to the United States, this is just one more example of how Donald Trump has changed the Republican Party and the DC Swamp.  He took on the establishments in both political parties and challenged the prevailing groupthink on China. 

A Personal Reflection

Pardon me for taking a bit of a victory lap here.  I have opposed MFN status for communist China for decades and have repeatedly warned that trade with communist China was neither “free” nor “fair.” 

I remember debating this issue with the late great conservative thinker William F. Buckley, Jr., Henry Kissinger and former Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott.  It was also a major point of contention between me and then-Governor George W. Bush during the 2000 Republican presidential primaries.

They and all our corporate and political elites insisted that trade with communist China would give us influence and change communist China for the better. 

I warned that it was the exact opposite – that it would change America for the worse.  And that’s exactly what happened.  Now the communist Chinese are bragging about their influence and control over us! 

And we’ve seen communist China’s corrupting influence time and time again – on our university campuses, on social media and even on our political figures at every level – from local mayors to Congress and the Biden family.

Trade with communist China gutted our manufacturing and industrial base and wiped out whole communities.  It made us dependent on communist China for far too much, from critical medicines to strategic weapons systems. 

In return, we got cheap goods, a global pandemic and a flood of deadly fentanyl. 

We can and must do better.  We must put America’s workers and America’s national security first.

RIP Dean Nelson

The pro-family movement lost a talented leader this weekend when my friend and colleague Reverend Dean Nelson passed away after a battle with cancer.  He was just 55 years-old. 

Dean was chairman of the Frederick Douglass Foundation and executive director of Human Coalition Action, an organization dedicated to defending the sanctity of life. 

I worked with Dean for many years to advance our shared values of Faith, Family and Freedom.  His voice of reason and his passion for America will be deeply missed.
