Leftist Violence Grows
The "storm troopers" of the radical left have been busy in recent days.
- In California, open borders radicals beat up and harassed conservative activists attempting to attend the state Republican convention. There were mob attacks on individuals, which, by the way, you won't see on the network news.
Now that's interesting. When a 78-year old punched a demonstrator, we're shown that video over and over again as evidence of rising intolerance and "fascism" in America. But what happened in California has largely been ignored. The Mexican flags were ignored. The violence and profanity of the left was ignored.
- Yesterday was May Day, a socialist-communist holiday. Not surprisingly, given the left's tendencies, it ended in violence. In Seattle, police officers were assaulted with rocks and Molotov cocktails. Nine people were arrested.
- FBI agents arrested a South Florida man Friday evening for plotting to fire bomb a synagogue. One press report suggested the man may be a Muslim convert.
Meanwhile, as anti-Semitic violence is reaching record-breaking levels in England, the left-wing Labour Party, led by an avowed socialist, just launched an inquiry into growing anti-Semitism within its own ranks.
And, of course, this doesn't include the countless incidents of intimidation and harassment that take place each day on college campuses against conservative students and speakers.
In Germany, during the 1930s, Nazi thugs silenced anyone who dared to speak out against them. (By the way, the Nazis were socialists.) Today's socialists are increasingly using violence in the same way to silence debate. It is time the media called them out for it.
"America Is THE Enemy"
Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, met yesterday with a delegation from Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), including the group's leader, Ramadan Abdullah. The meeting was extraordinarily clarifying for several reasons.
Islamic Jihad is a terrorist group, plain and simple. It is dedicated to the violent destruction of the state of Israel, and the imposition of strict Islamic law throughout the Middle East.
That Khamenei would meet with the leadership of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad only reinforces the disturbing reality that Iran is the world's leading state-sponsor of terrorism.
Khamenei later issued a series of tweets that summarized the meeting. He told his terrorist guests that "From the beginning, the Islamic Republic of Iran has considered support for Palestine as its duty, it will fulfill this duty in [the] future, too." The supreme leader added that "Defending Palestine is a symbol of defending Islam." In other words, fighting Israel is fighting for Islam.
But lest anyone be confused about Iran's main enemy, it isn't Israel. It is America, which the ayatollah calls, "the Great Satan." While describing his views on the Middle East, Khamenei reportedly explained to the leaders of Islamic Jihad that "Iran sees the United States as [its] main enemy with the Zionist regime [Israel] standing behind it."
Again, I have to ask how Barack Obama, Boeing or anyone else thinks it can do business with this radical regime that supports terrorism, views America as its main enemy and wants to see Israel wiped off the map.
Recruiting For Jihad
Iran's efforts to prop up the Assad regime in Syria may not be going very well. According to news reports, Tehran has resorted to recruiting teenagers to fight in Syria.
While the teenage recruits are being told that they are going to defend Shiite shrines in Syria, there's an added twist: They are also being told that they will form the vanguard of a new army that will invade Israel.
Just consider this line from a song in the regime's latest propaganda video: "On my leader [Khamenei's] orders I am ready to give my life. The goal is not just to free Iraq and Syria. My path is through the sacred shrine, but my goal is to reach Jerusalem." (I'm sure it's really catchy in Farsi.)
In other words, the Iranians are using the promise of attacking Israel to boost morale and inspire young men to fight in Syria.
Could someone please explain to the ayatollah, the supreme leader of Iran, that Islam is a religion of peace? Or is it possible that the ayatollah actually understands Islam better than our "experts" at the State Department?
