Hillary Trashes Trump
Hillary Clinton took her book tour overseas this weekend. During an interview with the BBC, Clinton was asked about the Harvey Weinstein scandal and her relationship with the progressive megadonor.
At first, Clinton deflected, saying that Weinstein's behavior was "just disgusting and the stories that have come out are just heartbreaking." Hillary added, "I really commend the women who have been willing to step forward now and tell their stories." Then, she went on the attack, saying:
"I think it's important that we not just focus on him and . . . his behavior but that we recognize that this kind of behavior cannot be tolerated anywhere, whether it's in entertainment, politics. After all, we have someone admitting to be a sexual assaulter in the Oval Office."
Correction, Hillary. We HAD a president like that in the Oval Office and his name is Bill. And let's remember who led the charge to discredit and demonize the courageous women who stepped forward to tell the truth about Bill Clinton. That was Hillary Rodham Clinton.
By the way, Hillary defended the NFL players who kneel during the national anthem. Her comments led President Trump to jokingly beg Hillary to run again in 2020 so he could defeat her again.
Bergdahl Pleads Guilty
Speaking of remembering. . . Do you remember Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl? He pleaded guilty today to desertion and misbehavior before the enemy. Bergdahl admitted to abandoning his post in Afghanistan in 2009 on his own volition.
Five years later, Obama traded five leaders of the Taliban for Bergdahl, claiming that Bergdahl was a hero. Obama celebrated this trade by bringing his parents to the White House. National Security Advisor Susan Rice went on national TV and defended Bergdahl's service as "honorable."
When members of Bergdahl's unit expressed outrage over the attention this deserter was getting, several liberal outlets attacked those real heroes, who stayed on the frontlines, because they were so invested in the Obama narrative of turning the deserter into a hero.
Bergdahl's fate now rests with the military judge, Army Col. Jeffery R. Nance. Bergdahl faces a maximum possible sentence of life in prison.
Russia Didn't Steal The Election
When it comes to politics, Mark Penn is a smart guy. He was Bill Clinton's chief strategist during the 1996 campaign and a top adviser to Hillary's 2000 Senate campaign as well as her 2008 presidential bid. So he knows a thing or two about presidential politics. And that's why I want to share with you some of his observations about the 2016 campaign.
In an editorial in today's Wall Street Journal, Penn writes that Russia didn't buy the election with $100,000 of Facebook ads. Here are some excerpts:
"Americans worried about Russia's influence in the 2016 election have seized on a handful of Facebook ads—as though there weren't also three 90-minute debates, two televised party conventions, and $2.4 billion spent on last year's campaign. . .
"Facebook says 56% of the ads ran after the election, reducing the tally that could have influenced the result to about $44,000. . . Facebook also counted ads as early as June 2015. Assuming they were evenly spread and we want only those that ran the year of the election, that knocks it down to $13,000. . .
"I have 40 years of experience in politics, and this Russian ad buy, mostly after the election anyway, simply does not add up to a carefully targeted campaign to move voters."
And speaking of Russia, the Wall Street Journal editorial board has its own column on the subject of Russia's interference in the election. The Journal notes that the House Intelligence Committee has issued several subpoenas to Fusion GPS, the liberal opposition research firm that produced the now infamous Steele dossier.
That dossier, a campaign opposition research document, was used by the FBI to launch an investigation into the Trump campaign. Special Counsel Robert Mueller is now investigating the Trump Administration largely based on that document.
What most people don't know is that Fusion GPS was also working with Russian agents lobbying in the United States at the same time it was producing the anti-Trump Steele dossier.
In other words, there is plenty of evidence of collusion -- between Russia and the left-wing group Fusion GPS. Yet it is Trump who is under investigation by a special counsel.
A Successful Summit
As one of the co-sponsors of the Values Voter Summit, I am happy to say that the 2017 event was a very successful summit. It owes much of that success to the fact that President Trump spoke at the Summit, something no other sitting president, including George W. Bush, has done.
The summit is an annual gathering of men and women of faith who hold mainstream conservative views. Yet Newsweek referred to the Summit as a "hate group." Yahoo ran a headline calling the Summit an "anti-LGBT hate group." How's that for media bias?
In my remarks, I noted that the attacks on historical monuments did not start with statues of Robert E. Lee, but with the Ten Commandments years ago. Now the left is going after monuments to Jefferson, Lincoln and Washington because the left is against the very idea of America.
I said the left was acting like "an American Taliban" because that's what the Taliban does -- it destroys monuments and erases the memory of civilizations that came before it.
Those remarks won me the honor of being the leading story on the far-left "Right Wing Watch" for much of the weekend. They highlighted what they considered the most outrageous remarks of the Summit. I take their outrage as a badge of honor!
