Personal Note
We are more than half way through the month, and I'd like to take this moment to thank everyone who has generously donated in support of our work.
Thank you, my friends!
For those of you have not given yet, I understand that some cannot afford to do so. Please do not worry about that. I ask only that you pray for our efforts. We always want our friends and supporters to take care of their church and to support missionaries first and foremost.
After those priorities, we hope you will continue to invest in American Values.
That said, let me be up front with you about the challenge we are facing: In the last 30 days of the year, we bring in approximately 60% of our annual budget. With just 13 days to go, we are running way behind.
In the weeks and months ahead, we will have many exciting opportunities. Every day, we are working with allies in the White House and Congress to reverse the damage the left has done to our beloved country.
We can take back our courts!
We can end abortion on demand!
We can defeat the attacks on religious liberty!
We can protect our Second Amendment rights!
But we can't do it without you.
Please support American Values now.
Tax Cuts Are Coming
Barring a last-minute surprise, one of the most significant tax cuts in American history will pass the House of Representatives this afternoon. The impact on Middle America will be a grand slam home run.
Tax rates are being lowered. The standard deduction is being doubled. The per-child tax credit is being doubled. The Obamacare individual mandate is being repealed.
The future is looking up, my friends! There are several positive economic news stories, which you can read here, here, here and here.
Don't believe the lies of the left. They will say anything to prevent you from keeping more of your own money. They believe it belongs to the government.
Putting America First
Yesterday, President Trump delivered an address on national security at the Ronald Reagan Building on Pennsylvania Avenue. His remarks were everything a conservative could want on foreign policy, and you could hear the liberal and NeverTrumper heads exploding.
This city is full of people who yearn for a return to Obama's globalism. To them, it is okay for every other country in the world to have a leader that puts his country first, but our elites think that is unacceptable for America.
This administration is committed to putting America first, and it is pursuing policies that will make America great again.
In his remarks, the president reiterated that you cannot be a country unless you control your borders. The left hates that. Certain elements of the right hate that. But President Trump will not back down.
He also took on a deadly development in our country, which accelerated in the Obama years -- a loss of affection for the nation that our Founders believed was a shining city upon a hill.
President Trump called for a rebirth of patriotism. A recent poll found that only 37% of liberals say they are "proud to be an American," while 18% would prefer to live in another country.
In Ronald Reagan's farewell address, he warned that this was what he feared the most -- that we were not teaching our children "what America is and what she represents in the long history of the world." Reagan cautioned against "an eradication of the American memory that could result, ultimately, in an erosion of the American spirit."
Donald Trump is willing to fight this battle, and every conservative should be willing to fight it with him. I know I am. That is what American Values is all about!
