Box Office and Neglect of Office
 
A remarkable movie premiered this week and topped the July 4 box office. The Sound of Freedom, a gripping account of one man’s fight against the brutal trade in child sex trafficking, brought in $2.5 million more than the much-anticipated Indiana Jones finale starring Harrison Ford.
 
Even the jaded Hollywood newspaper Variety was impressed. Its review observed that the Jim Caviezel film has “been sold as a ‘conservative’ thriller, but you don't need that mindset to find it compelling.”  Caviezel, of course, played Jesus in Mel Gibson’s The Passion of the Christ and is outspoken about his faith and pro-life convictions.
 
Adding to the intrigue is the dark and depressing subject matter.  I haven’t yet seen the movie but will soon. Those who have, give it high ratings and say the movie handles its subject matter without exploiting it, as so many other studios would have done. Major studios shied away from the project, but Angel Studios made the right decision to pick it up and is reaping the rewards.

But let’s consider what’s happening here. This film isn’t leading the summer box office because of prurient interest.  Its impact is for a different reason altogether. The nation knows we are suffering the grossest neglect in high office, and that our most vulnerable and valuable – our children – are paying the price.
 
The detachment of children from their parents is a deliberate feature of life today, even in America.  What’s more, under the aegis of the Biden-Harris Administration, order at our national border has been destroyed.  As policy.
 
The stories are too numerous to count. Day after day, reports are coming in of children and adults drowned in the Rio Grande. Traffickers bringing in lethal drugs and fractured families.  Drugs and weapons transported into Texas and Arizona.  Terrorists and child molesters let loose overseas are now making their home on our shores.
 
At a House hearing in the Subcommittee on National Security, the Border, and Foreign Affairs in April, the Biden Administration’s refugee assistance spokeswoman could not answer questions about children entering the United States. The agency has lost contact with some 85,000 children.  That’s likely the bare minimum. Overall, 4.8 million people have poured over the border and another 1.3 million are “getaways” from our Border Patrol, and about them we know literally nothing. 
 
How many of these are children whose fates have been ignored because the Biden Administration wanted to avoid any “photos” showing children in “cages” detained at the border? Instead, thousands are detained by traffickers subjecting these children to unspeakable degradation.
 
The Sound of Freedom calls us to hear the sound of these children’s suffering.  But it should call us to other actions as well. The Biden-Harris Administration has failed at the most core responsibility of governance – to preserve our integrity as a nation.
 
Americans are flocking to this motion picture because they understand the depth of this scandal.  All of this is just one more reason why the American people should turn their own “Dial of Destiny” and make Biden-Harris a one-term presidency.
 

Pray For African Christians
 
It’s not making headlines, but militant Islamists continue to terrorize Christians throughout Central Africa.  The violence is particularly bad in Nigeria and Uganda.
 
More than 150 Christians, including three pastors, were murdered last month in Nigeria.  In Uganda, Islamists attacked a private high school and slaughtered dozens of students.  According to one witness, the students were singing gospel songs when the screaming started.
 
The Biden Administration couldn’t care less.  It’s obsessed with Ukraine and too busy appeasing communist China and Iran to worry about Christians in Africa.  Those black lives don’t matter, apparently.
 
In fact, the only thing Biden is taking seriously regarding Africa is forcing his radical LGBTQ cultural colonialism on African countries that aren’t the least bit interested.  He’s actually threatening to cut off foreign aid to extremely poor nations unless they bow at the Pride altar. 
 
The left’s insanity is driving many Third World countries into the arms of communist China and Russia, all in the name of LGBTQ rights and often abortion on demand.  That is what America is becoming known for all over the world, as Biden flies the LGBTQ flag outside our embassies, even at the Vatican. 
 
Once, the United States stood for freedom, especially religious liberty.  Now it seems “gay pride” is Biden’s priority.
 

 
Saying Goodbye To Pride
 
As communist China prepares to win the next war, “woke” civilian employees at the Pentagon are “teary-eyed” closing the books on the month of June.  DoDCivilianCareers (@DoDCivilians) on Twitter shared this:  “As June ends, we say goodbye to Pride Month – a celebration of love, acceptance, and equality.  Let’s carry its spirit forward, embracing diversity, spreading compassion, and building a thriving world.  Love is love, and together, we make a difference.  #PrideMonth #WeAreDoD #FollowUs” 
 
This hooey was accompanied by a graphic of the rainbow flag, not the U.S. flag and the words, “Hold Your Head Up High!”  In fact, it becomes more and more difficult for any patriot to hold their head up high while our courageous men and women in uniform are being subjected to this gibberish.
