Biden v. Trump 2.0
Last night, President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump officially won their respective party’s nomination for the 2024 presidential election. Whether the average voter likes it or not, it is a binary choice. One of these two men will be president come January 2025.
There will be a few other candidates on the ballot in some states. They have no chance of winning, but they could well be spoilers. As a result, whoever wins likely won’t get a majority of the vote.
Even though the public has rejected Biden’s leadership on many issues, he will likely have the biggest war chest in history.
Biden Address Backfired
Earlier this week, I told you about multiple polls finding that Joe Biden got no “bounce” from his State of the Union address, in spite of the media’s glowing coverage. Well, a new Forbes/Harris poll shows why.
Consider these results among those who watched Biden’s State of the Union address, a partisan audience that always skews in favor of the president:
- 54% said the speech still raised questions and concerns about his age.
- 56% said Biden failed to adequately address immigration.
- 58% said Biden’s address did more to divide, rather than unite, the country.
Again, the disconnect between the lapdog media and the rest of the country couldn’t be greater.
Speaking of immigration, the House of Representatives passed a resolution this week denouncing Biden’s immigration policies. Every Republican and 14 Democrats supported the resolution.
Hating On Hur
During yesterday’s testimony by Special Counsel Robert Hur, the progressive attack dogs on the House Judiciary Committee demonstrated once again why they are so obnoxious and yet so effective.
Every one of them had the same exact talking points. Hur was told over and over that his report exonerated Joe Biden. Hur repeatedly denied that, but the next progressive politician to speak would say it again.
Predictably, the president’s White House counsel also told reporters yesterday that Hur’s report “cleared President Biden,” “the president’s been fully cleared,” and “the president is innocent.”
None of that is true. At one point during yesterday’s hearing, an exasperated Hur said, “We did not exonerate him. That word does not appear in the report.” Watch this exchange between Hur and Rep. Pramila Jayapal, chairwoman of the Progressive Caucus.
Exactly why did Joe Biden have all these classified documents, some dating back to his Senate days, that he had no authority to declassify? Here’s how Special Counsel Hur put it:
“Mr. Biden had strong motivations to ignore the proper procedures for safeguarding the classified information in his notebooks. He decided months before leaving office to write a book and began meeting with his ghostwriter while still vice president. . .
“During hours of recorded interviews in which he read aloud from his notebooks . . . Mr. Biden provided raw material [classified information] to his ghostwriter . . . This record was valuable to him for many reasons, including to help defend his record and buttress his legacy as a world leader.”
Joe Biden got $8 million for that book. It was his desire to show how important he had been during the Obama years and his desire to make $8 million. So, ego and money led “Lunch Box Joe” to hide classified documents all over Washington, D.C., and Delaware.
A Looming Disaster
Experts at the Center for Immigration Studies say their sources are telling them that Haitians fleeing the chaos in that country are already arriving in Florida, where they were processed and released.
There are additional reports that a flotilla from Haiti is on the way and will arrive in three days. The Coast Guard has reportedly been instructed to allow the Haitian vessels to land in Florida rather than interdict them.
If any of this is accurate, we’re going to be hit with a tidal wave of humanity. There will be Haitians dying on the way, and it will become a political crisis in America. Again, some of this is unconfirmed, but it is a highly likely scenario. It has happened before. (Here and here.)
Meanwhile, kudos to Rep. Cory Mills (R-FL), who put American citizens first while the Biden State Department put government bureaucrats first.
On a related note, Steve Bannon said he was told that the port Joe Biden is building in Gaza to unload food supplies will eventually be used to bring 750,000 Palestinians to the United States. Apparently, the much-hyped “Palestinian state” will be right here in America.
Confronting Communist China
In a rare moment of bipartisanship, the House of Representatives approved legislation this morning designed to force communist China to give up its control over the popular social media platform TikTok. The vote was 352 to 65. Fifty Democrats and fifteen Republicans opposed the bill.
TikTok is owned by ByteDance, which is controlled by the Chinese Communist Party, as is every major company in China. We know that TikTok grabs as much information as it can from every device, and that information is sent to China.
We also know that TikTok’s algorithms are very biased. A Wall Street Journal investigation looked at videos TikTok promoted related to the October 7th Hamas massacre. They were 59% pro-Palestinian, 26% neutral, and only 15% pro-Israel.
Another study found that subjects Beijing doesn’t like – Tibet, the persecuted Uighurs, or protests in Hong Kong and Tiananmen Square – are suppressed.
Research shows that TikTok has become the primary source of news for Americans ages 18 to 29. That’s disturbing because there is evidence that communist China uses TikTok to interfere in our elections and spread dissension within the United States. Remember the videos of young Americans praising Osama bin Laden?
The legislation now heads to the Senate, where it faces an uncertain future.
