Still No Answers
In yesterday’s report, I criticized the FBI and the Secret Service for their lack of answers regarding the assassination attempt on Donald Trump. The FBI evidently realizes it has a problem, so it held a preemptive briefing yesterday afternoon in a phone call with reporters.
- We learned that after 1,000 interviews and extensive searches of the shooter’s cell phones and online activity, the FBI is still unable to establish a motive.
- The FBI believes the shooter “looked at [the Trump rally] as a target of opportunity.” That’s an odd phrase to use, as it generally implies something spontaneous and unplanned.
- The FBI acknowledged that they have gotten into the shooter’s encrypted overseas accounts. But they won’t say who he was talking to. Why not? That is a red flag right there.
- The FBI indicated that white supremacists were on some sites the shooter visited, but he didn’t interact with them. So, why bring it up? It’s another subtle attempt to smear Donald Trump. It’s just as idiotic as FBI Director Christopher Wray suggesting that they weren’t sure if Trump really was hit by a bullet.
Former FBI Agent Jonathan Gilliam remains skeptical of the investigation. Noting that the shooter somehow managed to fully exploit the one area not secured by the Secret Service, Gilliam said that strongly argues against the idea that this was a “target of opportunity.”
Referring to the improvised explosive devices the shooter had in his car, Gilliam said, “You don’t just get detonation cord off the shelf. You pretty much have to have a license. . . How did he get it? And when did he get it? Because again, [this indicates] not a target of opportunity, but a planned attack.”
I suppose anything is possible. But it’s hard to believe that a 20 year-old nursing home kitchen aide was able to pull off such an extraordinarily sophisticated attack.
By the way, an inspector general’s report has found that the FBI is mishandling child sex abuse investigations. We know the FBI pulled agents off active child sex abuse cases in order to hunt down grandmothers who walked through the Capitol Building for ten minutes on January 6th. That is outrageous!
This is an agency in desperate need of serious reforms.
Hate On Campus
The anti-Israel mobs are back on our college campuses. Clearly, nothing has changed.
Dozens of radical protesters disrupted an event at the University of Michigan, resulting in multiple arrests.
At Baruch College in New York, radical Hamas sympathizers protested outside of the Hillel Jewish Student club. They carried banners reading, “Bring the war home” and “Let the intifada pave the way for people’s war.”
At Columbia University, the site of so much Jew-hatred last school year, anti-Israel extremists protested outside of an event welcoming new students. They wore pins promoting designated terrorist groups and chanted, “We don’t want two states, we want ‘48.” That’s a call for genocide, referring to the region before the modern state of Israel was recognized.
The University of Maryland approved the request for an anti-Israel protest deliberately scheduled to take place on October 7th – the one year anniversary of the Hamas slaughter of 1,200 innocent Israelis.
And the school year has just begun!
Barbarians Inside The Gates
Where is this explosion of hate coming from? Sadly, much of the hate is coming from right here in the United States.
For example, a recent survey of college students conducted by Brandeis University found that political ideology and ideology were the main drivers of antisemitism. For example:
- 89% of students who expressed hostility toward Israel identified as “extremely liberal” or “liberal.”
- 53% of students who expressed hostility toward Jews identified as “extremely liberal” or “liberal.”
- 71% of Muslim students expressed varying degrees of hostility toward Israel and Jews.
Hate crime incidents in New York are occurring in record numbers. Attacks against Jews are up 89% compared to five years ago. Last year, 477 Jewish residents were victims of hate crimes, compared to just 37 attacks against Muslims. In fact, 88% of religious-based hate crimes were committed against Jews.
It’s happening partly because of the hate that is preached in many mosques across America. In New York City, Imam Sheikh Muhammad Al-Barr called on Allah to “liberate Palestine from the occupiers” and to “annihilate” the occupiers, referring to Israelis.
As we have reported, Imam Al-Barr is far from alone in preaching hate-filled, antisemitic sermons in his mosque.
Leftist Lunacy
The neo-Marxist left’s desire to “fundamentally transform” America is about much more than higher taxes, “green energy” mandates, and growing the welfare state. It also involves a direct attack on the family and normalcy.
Leftist loons at Vermont’s recently posted the following statement on social media:
“Many families and students are getting ready for the new school year. Equity in the classroom is an essential piece of a productive and healthy learning environment. When talking about family, it’s important to use terms that cover the many versions of what family can look like.”
It then goes on to list several instructions on how to use “gender-neutral language,” including this: “Use ‘child’ or ‘kid’ instead of ‘daughter’ or ‘son.’”
This is the insanity the left has unleashed on society.
