Not Guilty, Build Back Broke, Not Normal

Not Guilty

Reasonable people can disagree over whether Kyle Rittenhouse should have been in Kenosha that night, but there should be no disagreement on the verdict that was issued this afternoon – not guilty on all counts

This verdict is a tribute to the wisdom of Middle America. Ronald Reagan used to say that he would rather be governed by the first 100 names in the Boston phone book than the faculty of Harvard University. It just was his clever way of saying that he trusted average Americans more than our left-wing globalist elites.

The left did everything it could to intimidate the jury and the people of Kenosha. Joe Biden smeared Rittenhouse as a "white supremacist." The prosecution engaged in several unsavory tacticsMSNBC was caught trying to photograph the jurors so they could be shamed and threatened in public.

The media reporting has been so biased and wrong that many Americans thought Kyle Rittenhouse had killed two black men who were protesting for racial justice. In fact, he shot three white men who were trying to kill him. They all had criminal records, but the media tried to turn Kyle into a monster.

We'll see what happens next. But if rioting breaks out in Kenosha, the rioters will be the real vigilantes. If you hear a commentator saying that this verdict shows how racist America is, that commentator is the bigot, not the members of the jury.

One final thought: Because of this verdict, the next time a young woman or an elderly person is being accosted by thugs, young American men will, hopefully, be more likely to put themselves at risk to stop that crime after seeing from this trial you can do the right thing without ending up in jail yourself.

Build Back Broke

This morning, the House of Representatives passed Joe Biden's socialist "Build Back Better" spending bill. Democrats wanted to pass it yesterday, but House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy took control of the House floor and spoke for eight and a half hours in a good, old fashioned "Mr. Smith Goes To Washington" filibuster.

There are plenty of problems with this bill – too many to list. But here are a few things to keep in mind:

·     It is the biggest tax and spending bill in American history.

·     It puts the IRS on steroids so it can squeeze more money out of taxpayers with more intrusive audits.

·     The Congressional Budget Office exposed Biden's lie that the bill is fully paid for. It will add at least $370 billion to the deficit, and that is a gross underestimate.

·     Other studies found that bill really costs at least $4 trillion. This bill is a huge sham, a massive shell game with tremendous stakes for the country.

Here's another major problem: It contains a massive amnesty for illegal aliens. The left-wing media outlet The Hill calls it "the most extensive immigration reform package reviewed by Congress in 35 years." At least 6.5 million illegal aliens would be allowed to remain in the country, costing taxpayers $111 billion.

Now, we have to mount a major effort in the Senate to stop this bill. But we have to be realistic about this: It all comes down to whether Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema can continue to resist the radical left.

Speaking Of Socialists. . .

Saule Omarova, Biden's nominee for comptroller of the currency, had her hearing yesterday. Senate conservatives did a good job exposing her extremism, particularly Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA), who said to her, "I don't know whether to call you professor or comrade."

As you may recall, Omarova was a Lenin Scholar at Moscow State University in Russia. She has called for bankrupting the fossil fuel industry and nationalizing the banking industry. During her hearing yesterday, Omarova repeatedly tried to disown her past statements, claiming they were poorly phrased.

Well, decide for yourself. On the fossil fuel industry, Omarova said, "We want them to go bankrupt if we want to tackle climate change." On the banking industry, she said, "There will be no more private bank deposit accounts and all of the deposit accounts will be held directly at the Fed (Federal Reserve)."

Our Journey Together

It's been a year since the 2020 election, and Donald Trump has not announced a book deal about his presidency. How can that be? Every Deep State operative who attacked the president has landed book contracts and big deals in the "lamestream media."

It's no secret that the left is still trying to silence Donald Trump. Dozens of publishers are refusing to allow the president to do what every other president has done – to tell their own inside story of their administration.

Well, today news broke that Donald Trump is putting out his own book through a publishing company started by Donald Trump, Jr. It's titled, "Our Journey Together," and it's the story of the Trump presidency told through 300 photographs with captions written by President Trump.

For example, describing one scene in the White House with Nancy Pelosi, Trump writes, "Attempting to listen to crazy Nancy Pelosi in the Oval Office -- such natural disagreement." I already love it!

Not Normal

This is not a normal presidency. Something is going on.

Yesterday, President Biden held a meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador. But oddly, Biden did not do a joint press conference with them afterwards, which is highly unusual

He's done something similar before with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi

Recently, he was caught on camera falling asleep during the climate summit. He's had multiple incidents in which his remarks have been incoherent. (Here, here and here.) If he goes off the teleprompter, the White House has cut the live feed

On his recent European trip, a report somehow got traction that he had some sort of "accident" during a meeting with the pope. I would have totally shrugged it off except that London newspapers reported a few days later that the Duchess of Cambridge was shocked by his flatulence. (Sorry, I am just reporting.)

Now, we find out this morning that he went in for a colonoscopy, and for a couple of hours the commander-in-chief was Kamala Harris.

This was a surprise announcement, and may have even been a surprise to the vice president, because just yesterday Harris's communications director announced her resignation. And there are rumors that the House of Representatives may have to confirm a new vice president soon.

None of this is normal. It has the feel of something being hidden about the president's mental and physical capabilities. And the American people sense it too.

I take no pleasure in any of this. My concern is for the safety of the United States and the American people.

We live in a world where dictators and tyrants are becoming more threatening every day. Our leaders must be physically and mentally robust, and they must also believe in American liberty, not globalist socialism.
