Road To Majority
Almost all of the Republican presidential candidates attended this weekend’s “Road To Majority” conference sponsored by the Faith & Freedom Coalition. There was a big emphasis on the sanctity of life on the first anniversary of the Dobbs decision.
Former President Donald Trump clearly exposed the extremist position of the radical pro-abortion left.
Former Vice President Mike Pence urged every presidential candidate to join him in supporting a national ban on abortion after the 15th week of pregnancy, a policy that enjoys strong public support.
Be Careful What You Wish For
That was Donald Trump’s reaction over the weekend to the news of an insurrection in Russia against Vladimir Putin. The insurrection was led by Yevgeny Prigozhin, the leader of the mercenary Wagner Group.
Saturday morning, many Americans woke up to headlines that Prigozhin was marching on Moscow with 25,000 Wagner Group soldiers. That’s what a real insurrection looks like! But he backed down after striking a deal with Putin’s regime.
Initially, the Biden White House and the U.S. foreign policy establishment were absolutely giddy that Putin was on his way out. Many felt these events proved they were right all along to go all in on Ukraine.
Yet, as of now, Prigozhin has been exiled to Belarus, and his Wagner troops are being absorbed by the Russian military.
Who wouldn’t want to see ex-KGB officer Vladimir Putin ousted from the Kremlin?
Well, ponder this: There isn’t a “rule of law” conservative or a progressive liberal in Russia who is likely to take Putin’s place. It is very likely that whoever succeeded Putin would be a bigger problem for the U.S. and the West.
Many popular public figures in Russia believe that the West is trying to take down their country. Anti-Western attitudes were on the rise before the Ukrainian war. Leading voices in the Russian military are frustrated that Putin has not used tactical nuclear weapons on the battlefield.
By the way, Prigozhin’s army was partially made up of former criminals released from Russian jails. They were let out if they agreed to fight with the Wagner group. He ran those forces with an iron fist. If you were caught undermining the unit or violating orders, you’re executed with a sledgehammer.
All of this doesn’t even get to the question of “What if.” What if Prigozhin had continued his march on Moscow and a civil war erupted in a nation with 6,000 nuclear weapons, many of them pointed at the United States?
I’m sure Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Antony Blinken and the Pentagon geniuses who couldn’t manage a competent withdrawal from Afghanistan have a plan in place to ensure none of those weapons fall into the wrong hands.
And if you believe that, I’ve got a bridge to sell you!
If, for the first time in decades, Putin really feels like his position is in serious danger, this could be a perfect time for the U.S. and our allies to push for a cease fire and for negotiations to end the nightmare in Ukraine.
Someone’s Lying
We’re learning more about the Deep State’s corruption from the courageous IRS whistleblowers who were removed from the Hunter Biden tax investigation by orders of the Justice Department.
It turns out that one of the whistleblowers, Gary Shapley, attended a meeting on October 7, 2022, with U.S. Attorney David Weiss and other top officials involved in the Hunter Biden investigation.
What Weiss told the investigators stunned Shapley. He left the meeting and immediately “memorialized” it in email messages with other attendees.
According to Shapley, “Weiss stated that he is not the deciding person on whether charges are filed. I believe this to be a huge problem—inconsistent with DOJ public position and Merrick Garland testimony.”
Shapley also noted that Weiss had attempted to charge Hunter in Washington, D.C., based on his residency at the time when certain crimes were committed, but he was blocked by the Biden-appointed U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia.
Weiss requested special counsel authority, but that too was blocked by “Main DOJ” or the Department of Justice, and Weiss was told to “follow the process.” Translation: “Stay in your lane and do as your told!”
As a result of this interference, Weiss concluded that he was unable to charge Hunter outside of Delaware, and that the statute of limitations on certain felony tax charges related to Biden’s dealings with Burisma had expired. In other words, the Deep State’s interference successfully “ran out the clock” on some of the most serious offenses.
Remember, the Hunter Biden investigation began in November of 2018. It’s now June of 2023. It wouldn’t take five years for a team of IRS agents to investigate anyone else accused of tax fraud.
IRS Agent Darrell J. Waldon, who attended the October meeting, replied back to Shapley, “Thanks Gary. You covered it all.”
Attorney General Merrick Garland continues to insist that Weiss has “full authority” to prosecute the case against Hunter Biden. Predictably, Garland also insists that criticism of the Biden Justice Department is an “attack on democracy.”
Curiously, in a letter to members of Congress earlier this month, U.S. Attorney David Weiss also insisted that he had “ultimate authority over this matter.”
Well, someone is clearly lying. There’s little motivation for Mr. Shapley and other IRS whistleblowers to risk their careers and reputations.
Was Weiss pressured by the Justice Department to back up Merrick Garland’s lie? That seems far more likely.
McCarthy Responds
Reacting to these shocking developments, Speaker Kevin McCarthy opened the door to impeachment proceedings. Yesterday, the speaker declared:
“We need to get to the facts, and that includes reconciling these clear disparities. U.S. Attorney David Weiss must provide answers to the House Judiciary Committee.
“If the whistleblowers’ allegations are true, this will be a significant part of a larger impeachment inquiry into Merrick Garland’s weaponization of DOJ.”
Biden Sends Signals
Meanwhile, Joe Biden is clearly sending signals that the Swamp and the media are to circle the wagons and defend Hunter at all costs.
The “First Son” was very conspicuous at last week’s White House state dinner with the president of India. This weekend, he was seen leaving with his father for a trip to Camp David, presumably so they could get their stories straight.
But some media hacks are finding it hard to totally ignore the obvious corruption from the regime that is occupying the White House and running America into the ground.
Consider this Washington Post headline, “IRS Whistleblower Says Justice Dept. Slowed, Stifled Hunter Biden Case.”
Even NBC’s Chuck Todd had to concede, “These transcripts, who these people were, the second whistleblower -- these look pretty credible.”
Children At Risk
As “Pride Month” comes to a close, major cities all over the country held various “pride” events with varying degrees of obscenity. At New York City’s “Pride” event, drag queens marched through the streets chanting, “We’re here. We’re queer. We’re coming for your children!”
Of course, the media either ignored it or mocked it as a sarcastic response to conservative attacks on LGBTQ rights.
The only problem with that analysis is that the battles raging all over American have nothing to do with limiting the rights of adult homosexuals. Every battle raging in the culture war has to do with parents resisting the demands LGBTQ+ adults and their allies are making on our children!
The idea that this was “sarcasm” is totally absurd.
They are bringing drag queens into school libraries and public libraries. (Don’t forget that “Drag queens are the ‘Marines’ of the Queer movement.”)
They’re pushing explicit and graphic books on young kids.
LGBTQ+ teachers are going online to brag about how they are indoctrinating kids.
Left-wing states are making it a crime to notify parents if their seven year-old son or daughter changes their gender.
New York’s drag queens chanting, “We’re coming for your children,” weren’t being sarcastic. They were bragging!
Some will say, “That’s a just a fringe group in New York City. It doesn’t represent the LGBTQ movement.”
Well, have you heard Pete Buttigieg denounce the New York pride marchers?
Have you seen a statement from the Human Rights Campaign denouncing them?
Did you see a statement from Bud Light or Target condemning the sexualization of our children?
Of course not. Nor is this the first time the LGBTQ movement has been so brazen.
In 2021, the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus sang a whole song about targeting our children.
We can’t say we weren’t warned.
