State Of The Union

Washington is getting ready for President Trump's State of the Union address tomorrow night.  The president is expected to take a victory lap for his first-year accomplishments, but also reach out to Democrats with a willingness to work for bipartisan solutions.  The president's infrastructure plan could be one area of broad, bi-partisan agreement.

Reports indicate that several progressives are bringing illegal immigrants (so-called "Dreamers") as guests to the State of the Union.  President Trump has invited Evelyn Rodriguez, whose 16 year-old daughter and her 15 year-old friend were brutally murdered by MS-13 gang members.

Rep. Joe Kennedy III (D-MA) will deliver the Democrat response to the president's address.  He has also invited a transgendered service member to the State of the Union to highlight Trump's opposition to this nonsense

Not surprisingly, Kennedy voted against the budget resolution to keep the government open.  In other words, he supported shutting down the government even though it hurts the military.

The left is constantly attacking the military (see next item) and voting against the Pentagon's budget.  The left only cares about the military when it can be used for radical social experiments.

Virus Outbreaks

The flu continues to spread around the country, and so too does TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome), for which there appears to be no cure.  Several prominent progressives succumbed to TDS this weekend, and the prospects for their recovery are not good.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said that President Trump's immigration plan was meant to "make America white again."  Just imagine what would happen to anyone who said that Obama's immigration plan was to make America brown.  Their careers would be over for demonstrating such blatant racism.

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) denounced Pelosi's divisive comments, saying, "We don't need that type of rhetoric on either side."

Then there was Rep. Yvette Clarke (D-NY).  She took part in a rally at Manhattan's Federal Plaza, which houses numerous government agencies, including Immigration and Customs Enforcement offices.

On International Holocaust Remembrance Day, Rep. Clarke declared, "We're standing in front of a building that has become the headquarters for the Gestapo of the United States of America."

Rapper Jay-Z called President Trump a "superbug."  Trump did what no other leading Republican would do -- he fought back.  Trump tweeted, "Somebody please inform Jay-Z that because of my policies, Black Unemployment has just been reported to be at the LOWEST RATE EVER RECORDED!"

Finally, Gregory Salcido is probably not a name you know.  But the high school history teacher in Pico Rivera, California, berated our military volunteers as "the frickin' lowest of the low" and worse.  If you wonder why we see some young Americans demonstrating their hatred of America, here you go.

By the way, Salcido is a former mayor of Pico Rivera and a current city councilman.  He should be fired from his day job and then voted out of office.

Those of you who live in California, and especially those who have loved ones serving in the military, should call the local school board's office at (562) 801-7300.  Firmly but politely let the school board know how you feel about Salcido's disgusting and disrespectful comments, which have no place in the classroom.  You can also send an email through this link:  https://www.erusd.org/apps/contact/

Grammys Get Political

Last night Donald Trump was busy at work repealing Barack Obama's disastrous legacy.  In contrast, Hillary Clinton was "busy" at the Grammys reading from Michael Wolff's latest work of fiction, "Fire and Fury."  Not surprisingly, as the Grammys got even more political, their ratings fell to a record low.

Speaking of Wolff, it's hard for the left to keep hitting new lows, but somehow it manages to keep doing it.  On Bill Maher's HBO show recently, Wolff strongly suggested that U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley had an affair with President Trump.

It is hard to comprehend how the left constantly trashes accomplished conservative women and the feminist groups just keep smiling.  Wolff's allegation is sexism plain and simple.

Haley shot back, denouncing Wolff's claim as "disgusting" and "highly offensive."  She also tweeted in response to Hillary at the Grammys, "Don't ruin great music with trash."  Hillary Clinton owes Nikki Haley an apology.

The Horror Next Door

Here's a question to ponder:  If your neighbors were up to something sinister, would you be aware of it?  Are you cognizant enough of what's happening in your community, and invested enough in the lives of your neighbors, that you'd not only know what was happening but also care enough to contact the authorities?

That's one of the questions prompted by the story of David and Louise Turpin, who are accused of starving, torturing, and imprisoning their 13 children for years.  Read more in my latest opinion piece at The Washington Examiner.
