About Those Inspections & Embargos
One of the most important elements of Obama's nuclear deal with Iran is inspections. Without "anywhere, anytime" inspections, Iranian compliance with the deal is virtually impossible to guarantee. As we have previously noted, there are problems with the inspection provisions -- provisions which key Democrats demanded and which the Obama Administration promised would be tough.
But on Sunday, referring to the idea of "anywhere, anytime" inspections, Secretary of State John Kerry said, "This is a term that, honestly, I never heard in the four years that we were negotiating. It was not on the table."
Really? That's not what National Security Advisor Ben Rhodes told CNN's Jake Tapper during an April 7th interview. That's not what Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz told Bloomberg News during an April 20th interview.
It seems Kerry is right when he says "anywhere, anytime" inspections were never on the table. Iran's defense minister said yesterday, "We will by no means allow any [foreign] authority access to our military and security secrets."
His comments were echoed by Ali Akbar Velayati, a top adviser to Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, who said, "Iran will not allow [Western inspectors] to visit our military centers and interfere in decisions about the type of Iran's defensive weapons."
In related news, the Obama Administration has been bragging that the deal maintains embargos on conventional weapons and ballistic missile technology for a few years. But Mohammed Ali Jafari, commander of Iran's Revolutionary Guards, who answer directly to Ayatollah Khamenei, blasted yesterday's U.N. resolution endorsing the deal.
Referring to the weapons embargos mentioned in the resolution, Jafari said, "Some parts of the [resolution] have clearly crossed the Islamic Republic's red lines, especially in Iran's military capabilities. We will never accept it." And a key member of the Iranian parliament reiterated the point, saying, "The [nuclear] negotiating team was not supposed to negotiate on Iran's ballistic missile technology."
All of this is further evidence that even before Congress votes on the deal, Iran is saying it won't follow the deal.
Shocking: Jihadists ARE Suicidal
If the Obama Administration spent as much time trying to protect us from radical Islamists as it does trying to explain away radical Islamic terrorism, perhaps five U.S. military heroes in Tennessee would not be dead.
The latest "spin" of the Chattanooga massacre is that Mohammad Youssuf Abdulazeez was suicidal. Of course he was. Most suicide attacks are carried out by Islamists seeking to be martyrs. They are suicidal with a purpose -- to kill the infidel.
Investigators have the shooter's diary. He reportedly wrote about "becoming a martyr." The New York Times quotes one official as saying that the diary contains "some pretty radicalized thoughts."
Obama Finally Lowers Flag To Honor Dead
This morning, Speaker John Boehner and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell ordered the flags flying over the U.S. Capitol to be lowered to half-staff in honor of the five servicemen killed by a jihadist in Chattanooga last week. The speaker's office released a statement this morning, saying:
"Out of respect for their courageous service and sacrifice to our nation, flags at the U.S. Capitol are being lowered to half-staff. Later today, we will also mark a moment of silence on the House floor in their memory. We will continue to pray for their loved ones and also take action to protect our men and women in uniform who protect all Americans."
Rep. Mac Thornberry, chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, demanded that the president "follow suit and order flags flown at half-staff across the country." Former Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell called on Obama to lower the White House flag. We posted a petition on my Facebook page that garnered thousands of signatures.
The pressure worked. After growing outrage, President Obama finally relented. Around 12:30 today, the White House flag was lowered to half-staff. It's sad and infuriating that it took so much pressure to get the president to do what virtually every previous president would have instinctively done.
"Black Livers Matter"
Planned Parenthood has been busted again. This time, Dr. Mary Gatter, President of Planned Parenthood's Medical Director's Council, has been caught on tape bartering over the price of baby body parts.
Planned Parenthood insists it is not profiting from the practice of harvesting fetal tissue, which is illegal under federal law. But when asked to name her price, Dr. Gatter says, "Well, you know in negotiations the person who throws out the figure first is at a loss, right?"
She goes on to describe how the abortion method used to harvest tissue is "less crunchy" than normal abortion procedures.
As we wrote yesterday, the Obama Administration is collecting a vast amount of data on Americans and sorting it all by race. For an administration so concerned about fighting racism, it should start by investigating Planned Parenthood.
It is well-known that Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger was a eugenicist and that Planned Parenthood locates many of its abortion facilities in minority communities. With these latest revelations, perhaps Planned Parenthood should adopt the slogan, as one pundit suggested, "Black Livers Matter."
