Hillary Makes History

Well, she finally did it. Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has become the first woman to win the presidential nomination of a major political party.

Clinton carried four of six states up for grabs last night, including California. Polls had shown the California race was essentially tied. But when the votes were counted, it wasn't close. Clinton won the Golden State by 13 points -- 56% to 43%.

Clinton also won New Jersey, New Mexico and South Dakota. Sanders claimed victories in Montana and North Dakota.

"Herstory"

That's the headline on one media site trumpeting the historic news that Hillary Clinton has secured the support of enough delegates to capture the Democrat Party's presidential nomination.

The Sanders campaign is crying foul over reports of Clinton's coronation, seeing an establishment media plot to sabotage the voting in six states today.

Yes, that's right -- voters are heading to the polls in California, Montana, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Dakota and South Dakota. So why are so many headlines this morning declaring Hillary Clinton the winner?

Reality Strikes Back

Two days ago, Barack Obama was bragging about how good the economy supposedly was and blaming right-wing media for talking it down. Based on today's jobs report, Obama might order drone strikes on Fox News and Rush Limbaugh's EIB headquarters!

Experts expected that at least 160,000 new jobs were created last month. Reality struck back with a vengeance this morning. According to the Labor Department's report, only 38,000 new jobs were created last month -- the worst level of job creation in at least five years.

Obama Touts Accomplishments

Yesterday, President Obama held a town hall event in Elkhart, Indiana, to tout his economic accomplishments. Obama's speech was full of contradictions and inconsistencies. For example, he blamed conservative media for people believing the economy is in bad shape.

Obama said, "It is the story that is broadcast every day on some cable news stations, on right wing radio. It is pumped into cars and bars and VFW halls all across America. . ."

End Of The EU?

Later this month, British voters will go to the polls and cast their ballots on a referendum to stay or exit the European Union (EU). The vote is often referred to as the "Brexit" -- short for "British exit."

You may recall that Barack Obama went to England several weeks ago and threatened British voters if they dared to leave the EU. Obama suggested England would be at the back of the line in future trade deals.

Monday is Memorial Day, a national observance first known as Decoration Day. The first Memorial Day was observed on May 30, 1868. Flowers were placed on the graves of Union and Confederate soldiers at Arlington National Cemetery.

Initially meant as a time to remember those who fell during the bloody battles of our brutal Civil War, the holiday's significance has been extended to honor all those who paid the ultimate price for our nation.

The Associated Press has reportedly been conducting interviews with uncommitted or unbound delegates. Their discussions revealed that a sufficient number of them planned to support Trump, enough for him to win at least 1,239 votes on the first ballot -- two more than the necessary majority of 1,237.
